Dotted with beach huts and ringed with wildlife-rich dunes and grassland, the horseshoe-shaped Coldingham Bay is one of the most picturesque beaches in southern Scotland. Only a smattering of homes peppers the grassy slopes above the kilometre-long white sand beach, amongst them the pair of strikingly contemporary Bay Villas.
With sweeping views over the bay and ocean beyond it, the Villas are set back far enough from the water’s edge to allow you to take in the dramatic coastline while being near enough to go for an early morning swim and stroll on the sand.
Number 3 The Bay is a slick first floor apartment that will have lovers of minimalist contemporary design in raptures. Thanks to its pristine whitewashed walls, uncluttered design and the full-height windows and sliding door that span the sea-facing wall of the open plan living area, the entire apartment feels bright and airy. Streamlined, high-gloss kitchen cabinets create an almost invisible backdrop to the living area, which combines a sea view dining table and pair of soft grey sofas. Stepping out onto the balcony, which is flanked with shrubs to ensure privacy, you’ll find a second dining area and a pair of sun loungers, creating the perfect spot from which to enjoy the far-reaching sea views.
Two double bedrooms are located to the rear of the apartment, both featuring a soothing monochrome and silver grey colour scheme and views across open fields. The master bedroom features a built-in wardrobe and en suite bathroom with a large walk-in shower while the second bedroom benefits from access to a bathroom with a bath and shower over. A utility room keeps washing and drying appliances as well as beach clothing and toys tidied away.
While you’re not soaking up the views of Coldingham Bay from the balcony, you can head down to the sand itself to enjoy excellent surfing, diving and kayaking - professional instruction in all three pursuits is available through the nearby St. Vedas Surf Shop. There are also plenty of walking routes in the local vicinity, including a scenic coastal walk that takes in the pretty fishing village of St. Abbs, the perfect spot for a tasty seafood chowder or crab baguette. Should you fancy a day trip, choices include the historic coastal town of Berwick-upon-Tweed and vibrant City of Edinburgh.
GROUND FLOOR The apartment is on the first floor of the three-storey building and the accommodation is all on one floor. For less mobile guests, there is step-free access to the property. Open-plan living area comprising: Sitting room with a three-seater and two-seater sofa, coffee table, Smart TV with Netflix. Fully-equipped kitchen with Neff electric oven and grill, Neff four-ring induction hob, integrated Neff microwave, large fridge / freezer, dishwasher and SMEG coffee machine, kettle and toaster. Dining area with seating for six. Bedroom one with king size bed, bedside tables, built-in wardrobe with hanging space. En suite shower room with walk-in shower, heated towel rail, basin and WC. Bedroom two with twin 3’ beds, built-in wardrobe with hanging space. Family bathroom with bath with shower over, heated towel rail, basin and WC. Utility room with washer, dryer and ice maker.
OUTSIDE The apartment is built on rising ground and is accessed on ground floor level from the rear or first floor level from the front. There is a first floor balcony to the front of the property, which is accessed from the lockable sliding doors in the open-plan living area. Outdoor furniture is provided. Please note that the balcony is fully enclosed, however young children must be supervised at all times.
PARKING There is a designated parking space for each apartment directly to the front of the development which comprises eight apartments in total. There is a disabled parking space and guest parking spaces on a first come, first served basis. There is additional parking in the public car park in the village.
BABIES & CHILDREN A travel cot and highchair are available on request. Beach kit and games are provided. Please note that the balcony is fully enclosed, however young children must be supervised at all times.
DOGS Regretfully, dogs are not permitted.
