Originally built in 1840, this traditional Tuscan farmhouse and Metato (chestnut drying store) was abandoned in 1946 and later restored from a complete ruin. The sensitive restoration, completed in 2009, carefully preserved the building’s character using traditional materials such as chestnut beams, while incorporating modern standards and facilities for comfortable living.
Set within approximately 5 acres on the south-facing slopes of the Parco Naturale delle Alpi Apuane, the property enjoys breathtaking views across the Turrite Valley towards the Alpi Apuane mountains. A 10-metre swimming pool provides the perfect place to relax and take in the scenery.
Access is via a gated private drive from the public road, leading to a spacious parking area with room for up to six cars, also ideal for ball games and outdoor activities. From the parking area, you pass the pool on the right, followed by the entrance to the upper Metato (king-size bedroom with en-suite bathroom) and then the lower Metato (twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom).
The main farmhouse is entered on the middle level into a fully equipped kitchen. To the left is a separate dining room, while to the right is a comfortable sitting room opening onto a veranda with lovely views.
The upper floor comprises a main king-size double bedroom, a single bedroom, and a family bathroom.
The lower floor offers two twin bedrooms, a bathroom, and a utility room.
The adjacent Metato provides additional accommodation, featuring a king-size double bedroom and a twin bedroom, both with en-suite bathrooms and separate private entrances.
All rooms are furnished in a consistent style, as shown in the photographs. Additional photographs of the property, grounds, and surrounding landscape will be added shortly.
For families, the pool area can be fully enclosed and gated, and the area immediately outside the ground floor is also fenced, while the wider grounds extend beyond. There is an outdoor dining area with BBQ, several peaceful spots for relaxing, and ample recreational space for children to play.
Free unlimited Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, and mobile phone reception is excellent.
