The Catawba farm is located at the actual site of the former town of Catawba. The town of Catawba in the late 1800’s had a blacksmith shop, general store, school, church, train station and pop. ~110. You will feel the history as you explore the 99 acre farm taking in the beautiful scenery or relaxing at the beautifully renovated farmhouse. The farm has 1.5 miles of Licking River waterfront w/nice river access and stocked 1
acre fishing pond.
The farmhouse boasts custom Kentucky field stone work and barnwood detail throughout. Much of the materials used on the renovation came off or out of buildings and barns around the farm. The farmhouse has two primary bedrooms w/queen beds. Both primary bedrooms have their own private walkout. The third bedroom has two sets bunk beds w/ full size beds on bottom and twin on top. Beautifully updated kitchen. Oversized deck with gazebo and fire pit outback offer an exceptional experience. Spacious front porch with seating. Very cool to watch the trains pass by. We have just completed the new pond by the house and don’t forget to say high to Jackie our rescue donkey, Big T the bull, Ramuel our Icelandic Ram and our two baby Tennessee Fainting Goats. They are located in the “Old Barn” (red, white and blue barn). Jackie loves apples and other fruits and vegetables, Big T loves to be fed hay and Ramuel will come to you if you yell sheep sheep. He loves bread.
Guests can explore the farm including the 2 acre stocked pond, the Licking River access, or explore the farms wildlife and scenic acres.
Keep in mind this is an operating farm and you may see farmers and workers come and go time to time.
If the river conditions allow for it we offer canoe trips or river raft rides without leaving the valley. Farmer Rob the neighbor who owns Gravett Farms can come pick you up. He will guide you to and help you in at a river access point on his property and your trip will finish up at our Licking River access. Approximately 2.5 mile trip
