Escape to the mountains and breathe in the fresh crisp air at Malu. Enjoy the outdoor activities that Big Bear has to offer including skiing, hiking, fishing and water sports. Then take in the views from every window with a coffee from the espresso machine, stargaze in the hot tub and cozy up by the fire. Malu means ‘peace’ in Hawaiian, a nod to our heritage and the serenity of this cabin. We trust you will have a great stay full of relaxation, rejuvenation and ease.

Malu is situated on the quiet side of the lake in the little town of Fawnskin. Here you can elude the throngs of tourists and disconnect from the world while still only 15 minutes from the slopes, town center and everything Big Bear has to offer.

Situated on half an acre of land, you have plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy. Beside the house is a large, extremely old Juniper Tree where you will often see beautiful birds playing. The whole space is yours to explore.

Built in the 1950’s, the cabin maintains its original charm with all the modern amenities needed. Once you turn up the long, private driveway say hello to your new home for a few nights.

BEDROOMS
Ideal for a couple, family or small groups, the cabin features a spacious king bed upstairs in the bedroom and a full size Sleep Number bed in the adjacent loft area. Just choose your desired mattress firmness and fall into a restful sleep. There is an extra full size sofa bed downstairs in the living room. The views from both rooms are beautiful! You will find usb and power points next to the beds.

LIVING
The living room features a comfy chaise sofa with a wood burning fireplace and a generous 65 inch smart 4K TV. Also equipped with a humidifier, flameless candles, and cozy throws, this rooms sets the perfect scene for a romantic movie night in, or perhaps a games night with some of our trivia and board games.

There is a small dining table for two people in this space which is perfect for watching the beautiful birds, bunnies and squirrels as they scurry outside the window.

KITCHEN
The fully stocked kitchen makes meal time easy. We provide all the basics needed as well as a coffee maker, rice cooker and juicer. Fresh coffee beans will be provided along with tea, sugar, cooking oil, salt and pepper along with a few extras. There is a bar table by the window perfect for sipping that morning beverage.

LAUNDRY
The washing machine and dryer are available to use and some laundry detergent is provided. It is here you will find the sleds available to use during those colder months. A vacuum and dustpan and broom is provided if needed during your stay.

OUTSIDE
The front deck features a small table perfect for soaking up the warm morning sun while enjoying your pancakes and latte. An umbrella is provided if shade is needed. At the rear of the house is where the magic happens. The hot tub is available whenever desired- morning, noon and night. Stargazing at night is a must though!
