The North York Moors steam train takes an 18-mile trip through the glorious Esk Valley stopping at Goathland, famed for both the Harry Potter films and the television series Heartbeat. Shopping trips to the city of Hull and the historic city of York, with its world famous minster, museums, art galleries, curio shops, inns and tea rooms is just over an hour’s drive. Coastal and countryside walks abound, with everything from energetic distance walks to leisurely trail and cycle ways through quiet villages and bustling towns.
