Getting Around Sunshine Coast

Flights to Sunshine Coast Airport (MCY) land you 10km north of town. Catch the bus into town or better yet, pre-book a transfer with a shuttle service. If you’re planning on doing more than laying on the beach, you’ll probably want to book car hire. If not, bust out that sun cream and get tanning.

When You Land…

Know what else is great about beaches? They never close! Take your towel straight to Maroochydore and claim your spot early. Fuel up at one of the cafes along the Esplanade first, if all the vitamin D won’t be quite enough energy.

If you’re arriving in the afternoon and already have plenty of energy, go north from the airport and explore Noosa Heads. Climbing Emu Mountain is a seriously “emu-sing” afternoon; there’s surfing, kayaking and sunning to be had here, too.
