My recent stay in Florence was heartbreaking and deeply disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the apartment had an atrocious, toxic smell, like a dumpster or garbage can, that made it impossible to feel comfortable or safe. It was shocking, especially after spending a significant amount of money expecting a clean and welcoming place — instead, it felt more like a cheap motel.To make matters worse, there were visible blood stains on the bedding and a large hole in the kitchen curtain, both clear signs that the apartment had not been properly cleaned or maintained. When I reached out to the property manager, she dismissed my concerns and even said she was “happy for my departure,” instead of offering any help or apology.I ended up having to leave early and change our flights, which caused unnecessary stress, extra expense, and emotional strain — especially for my 81-year-old mother, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. The entire experience was overwhelming and completely unacceptable.I’m sharing this so that other travelers are aware and don’t have to go through what we did. A formal letter has been sent to customer care and the CEO of the company regarding this matter.
