Large comfortable room, hot breakfast and restaurants close by. Indoor pool, gym and nice outside area. Ice machines on each floor, and a computer room. I will stay there again .

The people at the desk were very friendly and the room was clean. The only thing we noticed was that the refrigerator still had stuff in it from someone’s previous stay in the room and the microwave could use a little more cleaning.

There were a pair of jeans left in my daughter’s room from the previous traveler. Also, the hot breakfast time ended too early (9:30 am) when compared to other hotels & their breakfast ending time (11am). Also, our room carpet was still dirty…..there were crumbs left on the carpets.

Bright lights

We had been traveling all day and just needed a place to sleep. The bed was pretty comfy for a hotel bed. However, please get some darker curtains. I know bright lights are needed outside but then you have sheer curtains thay let all the bright light from outside in. I couldn’t sleep because I had bright lights in my face. But other than that it , it was just fine.

This is a newer property so it was very clean and quiet. The bed was a little too hard and the pillows were too small and they just flatten out during the night. That was the only problem. The rest was clean and the breakfast was very good.

We have stayed at this hotel twice. Hotel was clean and location convenient. My only complaint is that hotel sits next to RR tracks. When traveling from Florida to Maryland or back.....Florence is a halfway point and we are only looking to sleep and to get much needed rest. Train came thru both time we stayed there around 1am sounding the horn. It was very loud and for this reason I will find a different hotel to stay at in the future.

Staff were very helpful. Evidently the key card system for their door locks had lost its mind and most of our floor had keys that did not work. They busted their tails to get all of us accommodated. Parking was good as well. Seems many hotels don’t have enough spaces and this was the weekend of the Darlington race so it was pretty busy. Never had an issue other than traffic backing up for the Cookout restaurant next door post-race.

Upon arrival we were not greeted. I did offer a greeting. The keys were just put on the desk. The employee didn't tell me our room number or give any information. Not friendly at all. We were in an accessible room for a wheelchair user. The bathtub had rust and mildew and overall the room had a dirty feel to it. In the morning the water out of the sink started coming out brown. We were not warned of any issues or maintenance. The breakfast was ok.

Enjoyable stay. Joel is conveniently located between Darlington and Florence just off I95. Staff friendly. Room clean and comfortable. The kids really enjoyed the pool.
