Beautiful Beach House with Fantastic Outside Patio
This is a beautiful, very comfortable house. Five of us rented it for a week and loved it. As for location, the house is off a gravel road a mile or so from the main road so it feels secluded, with only the occasional beachgoer walking anywhere nearby. Best of all, the house has direct, private access to the beach. It’s only about 30 meters from Migjorn Beach, a clothing optional / nude beach (just about all the beaches on Formentera are clothing optional / nude beaches). Because there were so few people on the beach (even in July), we felt like we had our own private beach and spent much of our time on the island just hanging out or swimming there. The beach is fine sand with some rocky areas in the water and is great for long walks. As for the house, it has a large outdoor patio with a large dining table and lounges. We spent most of our time at the house just eating or drinking wine on that patio. Inside, the bedrooms are standard with only the master having air conditioning (the lack of air conditioning in the other bedrooms was alleviated by fans). The two bathrooms are European-style with tubs / no shower curtains. There’s also a well-stocked kitchen (including a dishwasher!), which we used for breakfast everyday, good WIFI, and a nice living room. When we go to Formentera (this was our 4th trip!), we are looking for an outdoorsy, beach experience, where you keep the windows open to listen to the sea. This house was perfect for a true Formentera experience, and the five of us all said that we’d definitely rent the house again. Finally, I should say something about how great the owner/management of the house was. Everyone went out of their way to be helpful. For example, even though our flight was delayed so that we didn’t arrive until 1:30 am, we were met at the ferry port by the owner of the house, who personally took us to the house. There’s also a property manager, who helped us with everything from groceries to the outdoor shower, and he keeps everything well-maintained. In sum, we highly recommend the house!
