Exceeded expectations - Highly recommended

We had a wonderful stay at the barley house hotel. The staff were warm, attentive and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. The room was spotless and comfortable. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay.

Basically a 2 star motel trying to be "special" putting lipstick vibe on a 2 star property. Pool was small, few real lounge chairs. The weekend pool party did not exist (4 children splashing around, 2 adults) and I have no idea how they would accommodate it even if they did have it, tiny pool. No gym. No cable TV. Property sits across from empty chain link fence lot. I considered moving hotels on day 1 but stuck it out..waste of time and $$. Room was fine, stay somewhere else on your precious vacation time. BTW, the small downstairs bar/breakfast check-in area, was "sold out" when I arrived for about 30 Guests for 2 day celebration, they also bought the bar out, so, no cocktails for "regular" (paying) guests on a Friday night. Ridiculous. The front desk agent "asked" the group leader if I could have a drink from the bar, they said yes, very generous :) awkward start to a crappy motel stay.

This is a fairly new boutique and mentioned bar and new restaurant so we thought it would be a convenient place to stay. Much to our surprise neither one were up and running. There are still a few quirks with the elevator buttons and we had to go from the 6th floor to the first floor to ask for ice! The owners were not very friendly but the front desk gals were great! Also the charge a $100 a day hold for each day you are there and the have a resort fee of $30 a day not mentioned anywhere. The only big plus was the comfortable bed. We wouldn’t stay there again.

The property overall is in great shape and well maintained and staff is very helpful when needed. However, multiple little issues when combined did not provide for a great experience. 1) when checking in, the room number that was provided to us did not match the room number plaque that’s on the room. Apparently staff switched up the numbers so when we went to our room and tried to open the door, the keys did not work, requiring us to go back to the reception desk. 2) the room has a weak AC that could not bring the temperature under 78, so that was the coldest it has ever gotten in the room. Not ideal. The same AC totally stopped working on our last night. Staff was very helpful and put us in a different room with working AC. 3) breakfast bar lacks options and was less than basic. The typical breakfast at the Holidays Inn has more choice. 4) the rooms don’t have phones, so if you need towels or pillows or any other service, you will have to call a phone number from your cell to get it. I’m ok with that except during check in we were never told that thats how we get to communicate with the front desk. Requiring me to go downstairs and ask the desk how we can get these things. 5) only one type of pillows is available, very thick/puffy ones. Very uncomfortable if you’re used to thinner pillows. Hotel only has the one pillow option on hand. This led to uncomfortable sleep both nights. 6) came back at 4 pm and the room was not cleaned. Requiring me to ask for room cleaning.

Amazing hotel. So clean and new. I loved the place. It’s a small boutique hotel but full of style. The pool area is beautiful with a lot of seating. The pool is the perfect temperature. The staff are very attentive and helpful. The breakfast was perfect, good coffee and a nice selection of food. Waffles, pancakes, smoked salmon, bagels, bread for toast, yogurt parfait, hard boiled eggs, donuts and mini muffins. The price was amazing. 35 rooms in total and it’s very quiet. Great location close to the beach. The shower is massive and very nice. Great bedding and towels are lux. All around perfect.

Pros and cons of this place. Pros: new furnishings and finishes - the room is updated, good AC, quiet, big bathroom Cons: lobby needs some help, no liquor license or food I think bc the breakfast needs some more options. Overall decent stay, but still working out the kinks for a new place

I was absolutely charmed by this beautiful boutique hotel! Every detail, both inside and out, was stunning. The moment I stepped into my room, it felt like a serene spa retreat. The space was open and calming, with soft spa music playing gently from the TV, instantly helping me unwind. I especially loved the private balcony overlooking the pool—it was the perfect place to relax. The bathroom featured a luxurious rain shower, and the provided spa robe and slippers made it easy to leave the stress of the day behind. After a long drive, it was exactly the escape I needed. The continental breakfast was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced at a hotel. Fresh-squeezed orange juice, gold-dusted grapes, smoked salmon, delicate pastries, and so much more—it was truly exceptional. I can’t wait to return. If I could give it more than five stars, I absolutely would!
Best cup of coffee I've ever made in a hotel room!
Breakfast was full of fresh fruits, juices, even smoked salmon and tomatoes for the bagels. Everything was delicious!
I loved the dining atmosphere!

I'm a business traveler. My expectations are always clean, quiet, and safe. Well its clean. I have some real safety concerns. Glass room doors all open outward onto a narrow balcony, very strange? Then the balcony on the pool side has no dividers between any of the rooms on the floor(6th). My balcony slider would not lock. All someone had to do was go onto the balcony from their room slide my door open and they would be in. Front door dead bolt was extremely hard to open so I gave up on it. Noise...in my 30 years of travel this is one of the noisiest new buildings I've ever stayed in. Plumbing is loud, sound insulation is minimal. Every room faces the noisy pool. The wort part....screaming children running back and forth in the hallway all evening. And I mean SCREAMING. I finally called downstairs and staff informed me that they were the owners children. They offered to move me. My question to the owners is a simple one. You might own the building but your charging me. Should I have to listen to your screaming children until well after 11pm? Been around kids all my life. This was just inconsiderate. Families with screaming kids this ones for you. Business travelers who need sleep. Go elsewhere.

Outstanding Brand New Hotel

A truly outstanding brand-new hotel with exceptional attention to detail. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfectly complemented by an excellent design throughout the property. Everything is spotlessly clean, and the rooms are not only neat but also thoughtfully arranged for comfort. The pool area is beautifully designed—stylish, serene, and a real highlight of the stay. Highly recommended!
