Just alright
When we first arrived there was no toilet paper and the toilet water supply did not exist, and there was a wrench in the tank of the toilet. So no toilet. I feel like maintenance dropped the ball and maybe it was supposed to have been fixed before my arrival. The maintenance man did get it fixed by around 8:30. Overall, this villa was just ok. It needs serious updating or just maintenance. The chair cushions and bar stools have stains all over them. The knob on the stovetop is broken and the rug is stained and has a huge burn mark right in the middle of it. I feel like the money spent on this room is enough to keep rugs and upholstery cleaned when need be. I stayed at Destin West on the Bay side in 2007 and felt like I was living in luxury. This time, in this villa I felt like everything was unclean, including the shower floor. Flip flops were worn in the shower. Looks like some cleaner with bleach and a scrub brush could do the trick. We also had an issue the first night with teens kicking all the doors on our floor several times up till about midnight. I don’t blame the host for that, just that the floor we were on is a high traffic walkway as it was where the sky bridge that connects to the bay side of Destin West and how people get over to get to the beach area. Just dumb kids playing an annoying prank. The real reason I picked to come to Destin West is the Lazy river. So that basically saved the experience for me.
