Under Construction!!!
I booked 3 nights during UIL State Cheer Competition- as my granddaughter was participating in it. I did not expect the major construction going on in and outside of the hotel. A temporary room was set up for breakfast (clearly it was far from the kitchen as food orders were phoned in and then brought on a cart from "somewhere." Lunch and Dinner options were simply "to go." I was expecting an upscale dining experience available within the hotel. The parking garage was full and the overflow lot was out behind the hotel, across the street in yet another "work zone." There was no security for vehicles as the gates were disabled. No validation needed so ANYONE could park there- or explore the parking lot and possibly vandalize hotel guest vehicles easily. The heated indoor pool was closed- and this was an amenity that my family was looking forward to since the outdoor weather was chilly. The TV in my room had on demand movies available one of the 3 nights- although I reported that it was not working, and an "engineer" came to check it out, and promised he would contact the provider to correct it. All functions of the TV were then disabled, it was not corrected, and I received no further update. The overall look of the hotel was that it was in disarray due to the construction, however the PRICE of the rooms was still at a premium. If I had any choice to cancel and go elsewhere, I would have- but due to the convention center activities, all hotels were fully booked.
