Double booked Suite, downgraded

Our upgraded suite that we paid for was double booked by 2 separate 3rd party hotel booking companies, so when we got there, the whirlpool suite that I paid for was not available and we were downgraded without any kind of refund so far. We were not offered free valet parking or anything substantial to make up for the mistake except an offer to grab a free snack. I expect a call to reach out about this matter, so we can find an appropriate resolution.

Friendly staff - Amazing bath tubs

Front desk employees are so nice and work efficiently, though they seem under-staffed. I was surprised to find out we were upgraded to the presidents suite and WOW. What a lovely night it was. I’d come back for that bath tub alone. And the bed was so heavenly, we had to pry ourselves from it in the morning. Certainly made for a memorable birthday for my husband. If they claim there’s “breakfast included” it was just muffins and Greek yogurt. More like complimentary snacks at best. It also can get a bit loud outside but I played white noise on my phone and we slept just fine.

We enjoyed our time at the The staff were fantastic. I am a hotel is lovely. We were never told that we would be paying an extra $35 US because it is a heritage listed hotel obviously Expedia did not explain that to us. We fully paid up before and when we went to leave, we were told that we had to pay the extra. I’m hoping that Expedia will compensate us for this.

I love staying in historic hotels and The Ashton did not disappoint. The room was in excellent condition and very comfortable. The staff was fantastic. There were only two things that could use improvement. 1. We had a room facing the street and the noise from passing vehicles in the middle of the night was unbearable. The third party parkng service was spotty. Two day hour vehicle arrived between 10 - 15 minutes of request. Two days it took over 25 minutes.

Decent but not great

For the price, I expected it to be nicer and cleaner. Definitely run down in some areas. Thermostat would not go below 74. Shower curtain dirty with tiny bath tub. Valet parking for 1 night was $65. Decent but definitely not worth the price.

While I am not a huge fan of the parking situation in downtown FW in general, they do the best to make it a good situation. The bathtub in the upgraded rooms are Phenomenal! Especially nice when you're wanting to get away and relax!
