A very spacious 3-bedroom apartment, it has been recently refurbished with both style and comfort in mind and caters for those who are looking for that special holiday combined with the privacy and freedom of a 'home abroad'. Birthday trip!

Sarah had kindly arranged for a bottle of Madeira wine to be lest for us. The flat was beautifully clean. The beds were neat and clean, and the one we slept in, the main bedroom was comfortable. Overall our stay was very pleasant. The kitchen, as has been mentioned elsewhere, is awaiting a total refurbishment. Unfortunately, there were no supplies in the kitchen, for example, olive oil. Salt, pepper, clothes washing, washing up liquid (there was a bit of this) Simple things like this, would have made the flat more welcoming. We had a fabulous time in Funchal, the flat made a great base for us! Thanks Sarah.

We had a super break in a well situated apartment. Plenty of amenities locally and an easy (10-15) walk in to central Funchal. We loved the balconies around the apartment that enabled sitting in the sun at any time of the day. There was plenty of room for 5 of us (adults) and comfortable bedrooms. Would definitely stay again.

Comfortable apartment

We completely enjoyed our stay in Sarah's apartment. It is nicely decorated, large and airy with balconies looking over the city and sea. The bedrooms were comfortable with two good fans if it got warm. Bathrooms were clean and towels were provided. The kitchen was large and had all the appliances and dishes we needed for our two week stay. Sarah informed us the kitchen would be upgraded this winter which will be a nice improvement. The location worked very well for us. Buses run to downtown and out to the natural pools up on the main road. It was also very easy to walk to downtown, about 10 to 15 minutes. The little supermarket at the top of the road was very handy. The neighbourhood was lively and had lots to offer. The internet was strong and reliable. Our communication with Sarah was very good and we were grateful that she was able to quickly sort out a little problem we had at the beginning of our stay. Overall, a great vacation in a lovely apartment.

Madeira Portugal Visit

We had a very nice visit to Madeira. This Condo was a very nice place. The kitchen was in needing work (cabinets hinges were bad and the dryer door needs fixed). But that did not stop us from having a wonderful time. Sarah was alway there to answer all my questions and she helped with getting us a taxi to and from the Airport. Apartment was very nice in great central location walking distance to old town and lots of restaurants. The main shower did not work and we had to all use the ensuite to shower which was inconvenient and was only provided with one towel each for 9 days and the dryer was not operational so we could not do laundry. Also there is a camera in the front hallway monitoring the door of the apartment which made us a little uncomfortable but other that the apartment was nice and we enjoyed our stay

A short walk to most things, or a quick bus ride to the rest.

We are a self catering couple who like to cook at home, go out for good coffee and hike in nature. Fuchal gave us a great base for all of this. Lovely condo, the kitchen is functional with everything you need to cook at home, and when they renovate later this year that will be the final touch on this lovely condo.

Great Stay

Very nice property in the centre of Funchal, exactly as described. Sarah was such a great host always on hand to answer any questions we had and arranged airport transfers for us with the lovely Joao. The location is fantastic in between the Old and the New parts of Funchal, 5 minutes walk down to the Marina Promenade, 5 minutes up to Santa Catarina Park, a few minutes to the nearest bus stop, with an excellent supermarket at the top of the street, lots of bars and restaurants too numerous to mention on your doorstep. The apartment is spotless, comfy beds, lots of outside balcony spaces, we lost each other some mornings whilst having coffee, the only negative was the kitchen it could do with a refresh but we were on holiday so didn't use it much. All in all a fantastic stay we intend visiting Funchal again and we would definitely rebook Sarah's wonderful apartment, if she would have us that is.

Nice Apartment, Great Area

The apartment is in a great area of Funchal, easy walk to the downtown, there are plenty of good restaurants in the immediate area and a friendly convenience store at the top of the road. We enjoyed our walks to Downtown, the Lido and Madeira Forum but there are buses available nearby. We did have one or two maintenance hiccups whilst we were there but the Owner was easy to contact, made steps to rectify the issues and very receptive of any suggestions that we made. The apartment is obviously well-loved and the Owner is making improvements all the time. It has a good feel to it and we enjoyed our time there. I’m intending to return next year.

The wifi is non existant and was charged extra for using all the facilities of the apartment ie rooms and balconies.I was not told i had no acesss to other bedrooms and for this i was billed.Just like the other review where someone had guests over and was billed for it.So if booking for 2 just be aware you cannot have use or you will be charged.And make sure you have plenty of data for your phone as the apartment is full of dead spots.
