In the common spaces of the building, there is a swimming pool, shared by the condominium, where you can enjoy the good weather and sunbathe in the company of friends and family! If you want to rent a car, the building has a garage where you can park.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD OVERVIEW There are several cafes nearby. Most shops, malls, and supermarkets are a ten-minute walk away. This apartment is close to the Farmers Market, Old Town of Funchal and the Cathedral. From here you can explore on foot the various sights of our beautiful city. (eg Cable Car, Funchal Marina, CR7 Museum, Madeira Wine Lodge, etc ...)
GETTING AROUND For departures and arrivals from the airport, the best option to get to the apartment is the transfer. Contact us in advance to schedule a private transfer car with our local partners. It is cheaper than taking a taxi on your own in the airport! There are bus stops nearby to get you to the center of Funchal.

Funchal Condo
The condominium that we stayed at in Funchal was very nice. It is an uphill hike of about 2 city blocks from the main street that runs down to the ocean. The location was great for foot travel to the main center of the city and most all of your needs are within a 2 kilometer walk.

Great location, central, quiet - unless you take the construction site into account which management let us know only on our travel day. Shower flooded, it took us several calls (send us the video/we'll take care of it) and e-mails (ignored) and management 3 days to come and fix it.Would stay again but wish management to do a much better job!

Great Funchal Property
My husband and I stayed in the Verandas do Funchal apartment for three weeks in February. It was very clean and comfortable and we especially enjoyed the balcony/patio space. An Island Apart made check in and check out very easy and communication with them was excellent. We also appreciated the weekly cleaning service. Our host, Decio, was extremely responsive when we had trouble with the oven; a new one was installed within a short time. This location is wonderful for exploring Funchal and was quiet at night. The steep hill up to the building could be an issue for those with lessened mobility but didn't bother us. Highly recommend this apartment!

Location a challenge for older people
We are very happy in the handling of the booking. The property was ideal but the hill & steps up to the property were challenging,not suitable for an older person unless you get a taxi

Nice appartment, but we had bad luck
Nice appartment, good kitchen stuff, clean. Nice bathroom and sleeping room.
We just had bad luck with some construction workers working on the building while our stay. We were not able to use the balcony, as there were falling dirt and stones on it due to the work. They also started at 8am, so we had no chance to sleep a little bit longer.
Nevertheless, I would book it again, as the appartment itself was a great stay.
