Nate checked me in and was super helpful and friendly! Room was awesome, clean, and well furnished! Really a great place to stay if you find yourself in Galena! Hotel is walking distance from a plethora places to eat, and shop!

A great stay! Newly renovated bathroom and clean room, though the bedroom could use some upkeep. Very close to Main Street, can walk everywhere and leave the car.

Biscuits and gravy for breakfast was amazing! The coffee was fresh and plentiful with creamer options. The room is very cozy and fits our needs wonderfully. This was our second stay in this Hotel and room. We will try one of the jacuzzi rooms for our next visit.

Breakfast was good and many options available. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Location to main street was excellent. Only drawback was not being able to control the thermostate. When i got cold at 3 am...i didnt want to call and wake anyone to adjust the temperature.

The owner's communication and customer service was exceptional, both before and during our visit. He went above and beyond to make everything easy for us, and provided excellent recommendations. The room was very comfortable and the shared kitchen on our floor was a nice surprise. The property was conveniently located and we would definitely stay there again.

The staff was friendly. The bathroom was clean. The bed, bedding, and pillows were comfortable. The close proximity to downtown was convenient. The atmosphere was homey. However, there appeared to be dog hair on the bedding. It was suggested to park across the street, but there was not parking available at any time that we came or left the hotel, so we had to park on the street around the corner. The room and bathroom were not what we were expecting based on the pictures online — but now I see the individual room descriptions online. I was not aware of this prior to booking and would not have paid the price I paid if I had known what we were getting into. We were assigned to room number 2, which I did not specifically choose when we booked online through Expedia. We essentially rented a single room in a large house for two nights, costing us 1/3 of my entire months mortgage. I thought there would be a fridge in the room — there was not. I had to put my expressed breastmilk in the community fridge available for all guests, which made me uncomfortable. We were in Galena for a romantic weekend, but could hear other guests through the walls. The bathroom was incredibly small — based on the pictures online we thought we’d have a large tub in our room, but that was not the case. It very well could have been my own misunderstanding when I booked through Expedia; I probably wouldn’t have rented this room if I had known what we were getting into.

The check-in was a snap. The room was ready and clean. The hotel information handout was helpful. Their listing and overview of restaurants was comprehensive. The hotel location was so close to the historic district. Within minutes of slow walking we were in the Main St/Bench historic area; we also casually walked to an excellent restaurant (Fried Green Tomatoes) on Main St. Nate, the hotel manager was so cordial and welcoming. uarent

We were traveling with our dog and were looking for a place that allowed pets - when I found this place, saw it was so close to the main downtown area, and realized how reasonable the prices were, I booked it immediately. We were so happy with our room and the service provided by Nate, the owner. Our room (#4) was huge and had a full kitchen - we only stayed one night so we didn't get to take full advantage of that other than to stash our leftovers in the fridge. We will definitely stay here again if we ever do another weekend in town.
