Perfect for what we needed

Perfect for what we needed. Seeing a show at Barrowlands, so it was a great place to get ready after work and then go to the show to come back and sleep after. And probably the same as what it would have cost for me to get a taxi home at that time of night. Clean, central and comfy.

Room was clean and organised. Room was cold and difficult to heat with system in place. Bed was comfortable. Hotel was a good base for one night, unsure we would stay any linger due to room temperature

Was just OK

Beds were uncomfortable, would need to request for more pillows if you don’t want neck pain. Reception was incredibly stand off ish and not welcoming. The shower floor filled up because it was clogged. Other than that it was clean and a decent room for its price. Would recommend if in a rush to find a hotel or for a few nights at most. P.S. bar is overpriced

Chilly stay

Honestly the travelodge in the city centre is better value with bigger rooms. Room was freezing and temp control doesnt work. We were told this is because they had 'winter heating' in effect and were given a small and noisy space heater that also didnt work properly. Drinks machine at breakfast broken.

We have stayed at this hotel at least 15-20 times over the past 3 years. This time, check-in was not up to normal standards. One person at the check-in desk (it was after 11pm), and I got the impression (right or wrong) that he did not know how to issue a room key. After a couple of minutes waiting, I was asked to go and take a seat. He then made a phone call, and after about 10 minutes I walked back to the desk and then he prepared the room keys and gave them to me. Without a sleeve with the room number on. Overall, I was not impressed with the check-in. Rest of our stay was as usual

I really enjoyed my stay at the Ibis Styles Merchant City - my room really was Glasgow themed, and the hotel itself was Scottish rather than a standard hotel that could have been anywhere. The staff were lovely too. To me, it is a real find, and will return when I'm next in Glasgow.
