Arrived around 1pm and told the room was ready but since check in time is normally 3pm I need to pay $20 to enter it at 1pm. I have never heard of such a policy before - if the room is ready what is the big deal. Money grab. Some music noise from not sure where that did stop around 11pm. Had fire alarm go off overnight - had to evacuate and then was told no information as to what was going on.

Great place to stay and very convenient to get to. Was able to walk everywhere except the west end where we hit a lot of bars that night (which we would have stayed 2). Walked to the Cathedral and the Necopolis, make sure to check those places out. The hotel was conveniently next to the train station as we took public transit everywhere we went in Scotland from Edinburgh to Glasgow, to Oban, down to Loch Ness area.

Overall a pleasant stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with nice amenities — hot water kettle, tea/coffee/hot cocoa, cookies, and a good shower. The location is very convenient, with direct access to from the lobby to the Glasgow Central Station departure hall, and close to lots of restaurants, pubs and shops. We especially appreciate the hotel being dog friendly. A few areas could be improved: we had several large suitcases, but no one offered assistance or even a bell cart. It would’ve been nice if staff had at least helped holding the doors open. The elevators are quite slow — despite having two, the wait each time was long. Lastly, breakfast was just average: the coffee machines seemed miscalibrated, with inconsistent milk ratios and overflow.

At check in the receptionist (male) was very pleadant asked what our plans were and seemwd interested in our answer. Rooms were huge and looking onto the Concourse was just that wee bit extra special. Breakfast was great selection - my husband liked the normal toasters ha ha. Food was piping hot. This is our 3rd time here - will definately be back. Thanks for a wonderful stay

We have stayed here several times and will stay again anytime we are near Glasgow. Can't beat the location. The staff is excellent as well.
