In a nutshell the rooms need a serious update!. I did stay in the Classic room but for the price I would still expect a way higher standard. The room feels like it hasn’t been updated for 30 odd years. So sad as I was looking forward to staying there. Very disappointing. On the plus side I couldn’t fault the staff who were all friendly, polite and helpful. Such a beautiful building and location, so much potential to make a stunning hotel.

Staff were all great, only comment is sticky tables in the dinning room, just a small criticism but it make all the difference, just try and move the breakfast plates or Jam holder when left over night first thing in the morning and it’s stuck. Its constructive help going forward 👍

The staff- Especially Vicky at the front desk, and Slav the front of house manager for the restaurant, were very professional, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are spotless and beautiful - as are the grounds. Location was super for hikers. Recommend this modern yet charming hotel 110%

This hotel is even better than its pictures- rare these days! It sits in the coziest village and is truly a serene experience. The King bedroom and bathroom was large and included a clawfoot tub. Would dream to return!

The beds were good, room spacious, but we had people above us and we were bothered both nights. We called the first night and it got quieter, but second night, it was just people walking and chatting until late. It was really the lack of sound isolation, we didn’t sleep well. The food and service (except for the receptionist and bar tender the first night July 31st) were not up to standards. However, the hotel is located in a quiet area, easy to walk around the slaughters and experience the Costwolds.
