Location was fine. Unfortunately we awoke in the middle of the night to a wet bed and bits of plaster. The ceiling above was leaking water. Apparently, they assumed the problem had been fixed. We were moved to another room, but our first night was ruined. Would have been nice to have received a credit for the inconvenience.

The worst stay - it’s only the room above the bar?

Other reviews seemed okay but we had s terrible experience in the room above the bar. Condition of the room, bathroom and surroundings were terrible. Floor was uneven with gaps covered by old carpeting.bathroom shower and sink were laced wirh mold. Window view was towards a flat roof littered with garbage. A bunch of smells were disguised by cleaning deodorants on the halways, the bathroom, luckily the outside air was fresh and we were able to keep the window open, otherwise we would have just left.

The only small issue we had was that our room was quite hot when we arrived (sunny mid-summer day, curtains open, closed window facing the afternoon sun) and there was no aircon or even a fan to help cool it down. Though I suspect that's not often a problem in these parts.

Strange that room 12 didn’t have a number on the door. The bath mat had threads hanging off and the towels were pretty thin. The carpet edge had pieces hanging off. Just a tiny amount of work would totally change the image of the room. My wife’s response when we went into the room was “We are back in Nepal”

The lady on reception was very friendly and check in was quick. Beds were comfy and not cramped (twin). We didn’t eat in the hotel so can’t comment on that side of things.

So property was well enough presented however tea and coffee facilities quite poor. Not enough LHT milk and tasteless coffee. Breakfast coffee also tasteless. This is my only complaint. Overall okay.

The hotels online pictures looked decent, however on arrival, it was a different story. Everything was dusty, there was some sort of green slime on the walls heading towards the back parking area, the white bedcover had brown stains on it by the head, one window wouldn’t open and the other was being propped up with a piece of wood which was a problem since there was no air or fans and the room was over 85 degrees, the room door looked as if it had been kicked in at some point. Finally, the lady who checked us in also served food in the dining room, cleaned the rooms daily, and helped in the kitchen. We left. They would not consider refunding any money. Pictures are deceiving. Beware!

Great base for cairngorms

Really good base for what we wanted to do and see in the cairngorms. Basic but comfy place and staff were great. Breakfast wasn’t 100% but very much worth the £10 charge. Parking was really easy and the local area fab too.

Always good value

Always good value but I expect a working TV in my room and not an argument about it. If you realise the remote has been stolen sort the problem don't expect your next guest to go without a TV. Once I said I wanted a working TV they then sorted it out. After 12 hours travel not the ideal welcome. For some reason it was noisy from other guests at night. Pillows are one lump or 2! Bed comfortable. I guess you get what you pay for it's less than £50 per night.
