The city of
Marina di Grosseto is a renowned tourist resort at just 12 km from Grosseto in
Tuscany.
This important seaside resort in the
Maremma, it is known for its wide
sandy beaches overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, with a vast
pine forest in its back, known as ‘Pineta del Tombolo’, which extends from
Punta Ala to the hills of the ‘Uccellina’.
The town center develops from the estuary of the San Rocco outlet, until the border of the
Natural Park of The Maremma, not far from the mouth of the Ombrone river.
The
wide sandy beach (an average of 50 meters width) with many
bathing establishments and great parts of
free public beaches, stretches without interruption until the city of
Castiglione della Pescaia.
