Overall pretty good stay at the hotel, though the shampoo/body wash offered seems a bit lack luster. Also having a menu for the breakfast would be helpful, as asking the greeter at the dinning area with "what options are available, what do you serve, and 2-3 other forums of the same question yielded little results.

This hotel was a mixed bag. First, the bad: unreliable/inconsistent wifi, mediocre room that had no desk or work space and very little room for 2 adults and 2 kids. It didn't have a fridge and there was barely any horizontal area in the bathroom to even set clothes down while showering. Lights require a room key to operate which was annoying, the kids hated the sofa bed, and the location is LOUD with nights full of screaming police sirens because it is on the corner of two busy streets and it is relatively close to central station (the epicenter of drugs and addicts in Hamburg). All was not terrible though: the staff was great, the property is well-kept and nice, and the breakfast was fantastic. Even though it is near central station, it seemed like a nice area that felt safe (if busy).

The property is closer to the main attractions of Hamburg. If you are travelling as a family (with kids), keep in mind that the rooms are pretty small and the size of the bed is also small.

Disappointing Stay at Novotel Hotel

recently stayed at your hotel for a week and had a very disappointing experience. Despite booking the highest-priced room, the service fell far below expectations. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful throughout my stay, which made the experience unpleasant. Additionally, basic amenities like bottled water were not provided in the room, which is surprising given the price point and standard one would expect. Also lot of sounds as some work going on. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the service and guest experience.

I booked 2 rooms for my family of 5 and when I checked in they gave us 1 room in the first floor and the second one in the 4 th floor which was very inconvenient. The room was very small and had no desk or makeup table and when I booked I thought the room will have an extra bed for tgd 3 rd person that I was charged extra for but it turned that they just opened the sofa to make it a bed for the 3 rd adult so there was no sitting area either

We had a great stay at the Novotel Alster. It was our first visit to Hamburg. The hotel was clean and always smelt lovely. The staff were nice and everything requested was brought up straight away. The breakfast offering was fresh and lovely and I really liked the fresh lemon and ginger tea bar. You are on the door step of the under/overground which was fantastic and about 12 minutes away from the gorgeous town centre. I had no issues and look forward to coming and staying here again. Thanks Novotel!

Short Break

Everything seemed fine until we decided to have a drink in the bar are on the last night. That’s when Ratatouille decided to appear and run under the window on the carpet. I noticed at breakfast there were bait boxes on the dining area so obviously there is a rodent problem
