Noisy and dirty - relaxation spoilt
1 / 5
We booked this trip after 2 difficult years of illness and work stress and we were looking for a relaxing and quiet place to go and unwind and enjoy nature. We dreamt of days and nights on the porch listening to the birds and watching the animals by the water hole but instead our entire trip was ruined by building works. We felt like we were right in the middle of a building site and all we could hear the entire trip was hammering, drilling, machinery and workmen so there was no chance of any relaxation and the building works scared away any animals that might have come to drink at the watering hole. The bathroom was also filthy on arrival - the toilet and sink had not been cleaned before our stay. We complained to management and nothing was done. We booked this trip in January and stayed in August so the lodge had plenty of time to inform us before our stay that there were building works happening during our trip and they didn't.
