Horrendous check in experience. I spent 2 hours in reception trying to sort out payment. I had paid upfront via hotels.com 6 weeks previously but the hotel had no record of payment and put me under a lot of pressure to pay again saying they would refund once it was sorted with hotels.com. The evening meal was expensive for what was actually a pay at the bar non waiter service. We paid for breakfast when we eventually checked in but the next day they had no record of our booking and no one was there to take our order as they thought they’d finished service even though there was another half hour left. Eventually we found someone. The hotel has recently changed hands and is obviously in need of a refresh as it’s a bit tired. The blurb mentions beautifully landscaped grounds but the view out of our room was not that. It spoilt what was meant to be a relaxing spa break with my daughter to celebrate her 21st birthday

Dining Issues • Booking Confusion – Told no booking was needed, but staff asked for one on arrival. • Disorganized Service – Delayed seating, no menus or cutlery provided. • Long Wait – Food took over 2.5 hours despite a 30-minute estimate. • Unprofessional Staff – Waiter made an inappropriate comment. • Poor Food Quality – Not worth the wait. Breakfast Issues • Buffet was poorly stocked and not replenished. • Manager made a sarcastic remark. Swimming Facilities • No towels at the pool, poor signage, and missing entry pass. Hotel getting dated.

Hotel is getting dated and rooms need upgrading. Hotel is changing now as being charged for everything. No more use of the hotel gym without charge and food standard has slipped. But for one night it’s fine to use with reasonable priced rooms.

We had a great stay at the hotel and enjoyed attending our friend’s wedding. The staff were friendly, and the event was well-organized. However, the cleanliness under the bed was below standard and could be improved. Overall, we appreciated the experience and the warm atmosphere.

Has Potential.

This a great location with good facilities, but it needs a punch up in staffing and management attentiveness to make it a great hotel. Our stay was marred by the actions of another guest- although not the fault of the hotel, it did reveal weak systems of communication.
