Overall excellent!

Friendly greeting on arrival. Room was clean, comfortable and well maintained. Complimentary drinks in mini fridge an unexpected bonus as was the tea and coffee in reception. Breakfast was well stocked with continental and cooked breakfast items. Beds were extremely comfortable.

Things I didn't like: Bathroom had a fowl smell on and off, had to use odor spray quite often. Housekeeping is only on request and even after I requested for my room to be cleaned (I travelled to a family's place for 3 days) and still didn't get done, my room was not cleaned. Things I liked: Right in middle of great sights seeing, downtown, very accessible to transportation.

The hotel is conveniently located just next to the Schlaegerstrasse subway stop, some 5-7 minutes travel to Kroepcke and Central Station, 10 minutes walk to Sprengel museum and Landesmuseum. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, bathroom is good and clean. The only minor issue may be lights - not one chandelier, but zones, but it really is a matter of taste.

we took a standard double room for 350 Euros per night, the room was very small, no more than 30cm of space on the sides of the bed, a small desk, no wardrobe except a couple of hangers. physically there was no room for the suitcases anywhere other than leaving them on the floor and climbing over them to go to the bathroom. We asked for a slightly larger room. At reception they told us that the rooms are all the same and that they were fully booked. we invited the receptionist to check the measurements of the room, she came up and replied, the room is really small, we'll change it tomorrow. The next morning there is no water to take a shower. At the reception we pointed out the promised room change and that there was no water in the bathroom. In the evening they tell us that they won't change the room because it is the same as the others and there was no point in changing them. plus they didn't have other rooms and that the problem was only our problem, there was a bed for 2 people so we had to make it work, even calling me a liar because they had the room checked and the water in the afternoon was ok. After several attempts (I raised my voice a little) another receptionist comes out and warns me to call the police. I agree, I say, call her willingly. He replies that they would have agreed with the hotel because they are German and I am not. I convince the other receptionist to check the room, she goes up and comes back saying the room is really small, and she change it.
