Très bel hôtel dans le meilleur quartier pour visiter Hanoi. Vous verrez tout le décor rafiné de cet hôtel dans les photos de hôtels.com. Situé dans le quartier central et très sécure de Hanoi il y est agréable de visiter à pied. De plus, il est vraiment un hôtel 5 étoiles, le personnel est toujours là pour vous aider. We recently stayed at Grand Hotel du Lac Hanoi, and it was such a memorable experience from start to finish. The front desk team and manager were incredibly professional, warm, and welcoming during our stay. One of the highlights of our stay was the fantastic service from the breakfast team who were so attentive and made sure we were taken care of. Dinner at Ding Doong was equally impressive. Both the food and service exceeded our expectations, creating a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. The location of the hotel is ideal as it is right in the heart of Hanoi, yet in a calmer pocket where it’s much easier to cross the roads (a huge plus if you’ve been to Hanoi before!). It’s close to everything, but you still get a sense of calm and comfort when you return at the end of the day. As we checked out, we were surprised with a thoughtful parting gift, which left such a positive final impression. It’s the kind of personal touch that really makes a difference.

To start I want to commend the staff at the Grand Hotel du Lac. This was probably the most welcoming experience I’ve ever had at a regular hotel. Bertha handled my check-in and was incredibly helpful throughout my five-day stay. She went above and beyond, offering evening ginger tea and even helping me organize flowers I needed for a business matter. She was always available and eager to help. Breakfast each morning was another highlight. The buffet was fresh and beautifully presented, with real espresso coffee (no push-button machines). The staff were once again exceptional. Emily, who had just started, brought such joy and kindness to the morning that it was truly the best way to start the day. And then there’s Thomas, who greeted us personally in the lobby every time we came or went, always checking in to see if we needed anything. The rooms have a certain old-world charm that fits the character of the hotel, though some elements may feel a bit dated to those used to modern interiors. My colleague stayed in a room without a window, which can work perfectly well for travelers who value quiet and rest over natural light. However, if having a view or daylight is important to you, I would definitely recommend upgrading to one of the rooms with a window to enhance your overall experience. The pool terrace is a lovely spot to unwind, though it is on the smaller side. It’s also worth noting that there are some stairs involved in getting to it. Overall a great experience!

The hotel and its staff go out of their way to make your stay exceptional in this very beautiful city. Within no time you are greeted by your name. Breakfast was my favorite part of I had to pick shortly followed by the location and ease to get everywhere. Example of client service We had a booking at the opera where the tickets were supposed to be silvered at the lobby, unfortunately this didn’t work out as planned, the reception took it upon them and contacted the opera and managed that we got our tickets on time.

If you want a 5 star hotel experience stay here. From the moment we arrived our every need was looked after. Paula wasn’t feeling too well one morning and Benny in the dining room went out of his way getting herbal drinks for her and even sending some to our room that night. Thomas and Jeremy and the staff at the front desk made sure we knew where we were going and on our return would have drinks ready for us , much appreciated in the heat. My fiancee and I stayed here during our week long trip to Hanoi. Besides the great location in old quarters, the good food and service, the staff is truly amazing. They especially went above and beyond on our last day when my fiancee got food poisoning the day of our flight. They extended our check out late into the evening so she could get as much rest as possible before the flight. They prepared hot tea and even got the kitchen to cook up some plain congee during off hours once she started recovering a bit. All of this was a no additional cost to us. Just on the great hospitality alone I would highly recommend Grand Hotel du Lac to anyone planning on visiting Hanoi.

Top Stay in Hanoi – Camellia and the Team Were Brilliant We had an absolutely cracking stay in Hanoi, and a huge part of that was thanks to the amazing service from Camellia and the team at the hotel. From the get-go, everything ran like clockwork – smooth check-in, friendly faces, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The breakfasts were unreal – heaps of options, super fresh, and plenty to keep you going whether you were off exploring or heading to the golf course. A great mix of local dishes and the usual Western comforts, all done really well. What really stood out for us was how well the golf and transfers were organised. Camellia looked after the whole lot – tee times, transport, the works – and made it all feel completely effortless. She was always one step ahead and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great time. Can’t thank her enough. All up, this place has the lot – comfort, convenience, and a real personal touch. If you’re heading to Hanoi and want a hassle-free, top-quality stay (especially if golf’s on the agenda), this is the spot. We’ll definitely be back – and we’ll be asking for Camellia again!
