Failing wifi, but otherwise good.

We had some critical meetings and the wifi failed on us. This is still a favorite hotel of mine, but it just did not feel like it had the same vibe as my previous visits.

The hotel was safe, friendly and clean. The mattress and pillows in our room needed to be replaced. Our room was also never refreshed, while we were there. However, I would try another stay at the Hotel Madison.

Overall, the hotel is very beautiful, especially the exterior and the surrounding buildings, which create a great first impression. However, there are a few areas that could use improvement. When I entered the room, it didn’t seem like it had been properly dusted—there was visible dust on the tables and even on the lightbulbs, which gave the room an unkempt feel. The bedding also left much to be desired; the sheets were quite rough and the pillows weren’t very comfortable, making it hard to get a restful sleep. Additionally, the air conditioning unit was a bit noisy, which could be distracting, though I was tired enough to sleep through it. With improvements to cleanliness, bedding quality, and maintenance, this hotel could be an excellent place to stay.

We booked this hotel for a few nights after visiting the Luray Caverns. It's a nice location right next to a beautiful university campus. In close proximity to different outdoors activities as well as a variety of places to eat. The lobby of the hotel looks nice and modern. The rooms do look a bit worn out and could use an update. The front desk staff was pleasant. The pool was supposedly heated but it definitely did not feel that way. Taking one star off because the phone in the room wasn't working and trying to reach the front desk from our cellphones was impossible. Had to go downstairs to request extra linen to which the staff was very accommodating but the fact that I needed to actually go to the lobby to reach the staff shouldn't have been the case.
