Filled with curated antiques, cozy touches, and thoughtful details (including dog-friendly stays with no added fee), it’s the kind of place that feels like home the moment you arrive. -Dog Policy- We love dogs and are happy to welcome well-behaved canine companions free of charge, provided the following expectations are met:
•Dogs must be clean, fully house-trained, and current on flea and tick prevention. Please do not bring dogs with known issues such as separation anxiety, scratching or chewing doors or walls, excessive barking, incontinence, or marking behaviors. •Dogs may not be left unattended outdoors. Bathroom linens may not be used. •Guests are required to thoroughly clean dog hair prior to checkout by: -Vacuuming floors and rugs (use the corded vacuum located in the guest room closet) -Lint rolling beds, bedding, and pillows where dogs may have been present (lint roller can be found in the canine cupboard of the sideboard) Excessive dog hair—defined as pet hair remaining on beds, bedding, upholstered furniture, or rugs that requires cleaning beyond our standard turnover or pet waste left in the yard may result in an additional cleaning fee of $125 charged after checkout.
Optional Expedited Checkout: Guests who prefer not to complete dog-related checkout cleaning may purchase a $95 expedited pet checkout prior to the last day of your stay. This does not cover pet waste in the yard or damage. Please contact Callie if you wish to select this option. Payment will be made via the booking platform.

The house was exactly as listed. It was a delightful and charming place. The owner communicated thoroughly with me and went above and beyond for certain. I would highly recommend this property. Privacy but a short drive to everything Dahlonega has to offer.

Probably one of the best VRBO rentals we've stayed at in a while. The location was perfect for everything. Close to Dahlonega, wineries, great restaurants, kayaking and more. The rental itself was very clean, especially for a pet friendly place. I was very impressed. Callie provided everything you need and then some. She was also very quick to answer questions and super nice. Overall I can't say anything bad about our experience. We really enjoyed it there.

Absolutely one of the most gorgeous homes we have stayed in. Pictures do not do it justice. Perfect for our family of 3 and convenient to everything we were doing in Dahlonega. Absolutely stunning decor and host really thought of all the smallest details. Super comfortable beds with luxury linens. Highly recommend to anyone and certainly would love to stay again.

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay at the Historical Schoolhouse. Callie was very communicative with us even letting us know before arrival that there was an internet issue in the area. She continued to stay in contact and give us updates as she received. I had a couple of questions that Callie answered quickly. The schoolhouse was warm and inviting as soon we stepped in the front door. The little extra touches throughout made it feel like a home away from home. Although we didn’t bring our dog with us, I loved how dog friendly the schoolhouse was. I already know that if we have another stay in Dahlonega, I’m checking the Schoolhouse first to see if it is available!

We can’t say enough great things about this house and the host. Callie’s attention to detail is outstanding, she responded immediately to questions, and even filled a dog bowl with water for our arrival! The beds were extra comfy, everything in the house is new and high end- great showers, fully stocked kitchen, great seating with 3 fully separate porches (2 are screened), easy to use gas fire pit with a beautifully lit yard- even a swing in the yard which our kids loved. The driveway and road were easy and not steep or curvy. Great neighborhood to walk the dog. Close to stores and hiking/waterfalls, only 30 min from Helen which is fun. The house was just so aesthetically pleasing that it made the trip feel luxurious. We couldn’t stop taking pictures for decorating ideas. If I could have Callie decorate our house…! Thank you for making our Thanksgiving dinner and trip so special Callie! This is not just your average house rental!

I don’t know where to start, everything was so nice. Clean, best quality sheets and towels, extremely well stocked kitchen. It was like we had walked into our own home, just bring a Change of clothes and something to eat. The pictures do not do this place justice. Fire pit super easy to light, outdoor lighting brought a fairytale atmosphere, 2 porches with lots of comfy seating. The owner has managed to capture and maintain the beauty of an old building with rich history, yet make it super cozy and comfy. HIGHLY recommend! Will definitely be back. Thank you for making our getaway so wonderful!

This place was just so...just so immaculate, just so well provisioned, just so convenient! In fact, it was just so pet friendly, we didnt need to unpack our dog bowls! Dahlonega is a wonderful town to visit, also pet friendly. But mostly, this beautiful cabin in the woods seems miles and miles away from whatever worries you! Stay a night, stay a week, but stay here if you're in the area! Just so you know what we now know!
