Fun fact: The cottage originally served as the residence for the Delaware and Hudson Canal “lock tender,” an officer in charge of maintaining the canal locks and checking permits. Such a lovely spot
It was everything we had hoped it would be. Spent the week hiking and visiting New Palz. Will come again next fall. Best time for a visit with the beautiful fall changing leaves.
The only drawback was a night of a fire alarm going off. It happened twice in the middle of the night. Not sure what happened. The manager did not respond for a couple of days. Not a big deal since it did not happen again. But, strange to not hear back from text or email.
Thank you for sharing your lovely spot!

Comfortable Peaceful Weekend
I was looking for a comfortable and peaceful getaway and I found it! The house was the perfect size for my sister and I have our own spaces. The river and waterfall right behind the house was so nice to hear and the cherry on top. It was very easy to get to. The welcome book was super helpful of things to do and places to eat, all less than 20mins away. I can’t wait to come back.
