Situated in the hills and d see signed by one of Frank Lloyd Wright's students this is an ideal getaway for a weekend. The Oak restaurant is one of the best in the area.

To stay in Highlands for mountain views, this is the place. Its a 9 minute drive to downtown . Ubers are scarce. The Hotel is retro and in great shape, rooms are large and nice. Staff, very nice and helpful. The only downside, the bar is not good with poor service. The restaurant is average and expensive so you need to go to town . They are missing out on revenue with better restaurant. and bar.

This property exceeded my expectations. My room was practically conjured up from my mountain getaway dreams, a rustic mid-century studio apartment perfectly appointed. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, and I also enjoyed the cozy privacy I was after. Must give serious notes to the restaurant on-site, it is outrageously vibey and well-crafted in every way. I rarely write reviews and knew upon arrival that I would need to submit a rave approval.

First Patty at check in was beyond sweet and she was so welcoming. Really wonderful employee. There were small things that were lacking like no hand soap and the shower gel was almost empty so really no soap to speak of. Also they have this cute card talking about making yourself an afternoon cup of trees but no tea. And then we returned around 8:45 and ran out to go to our car to grab surfing and left our key in the room. I called the emergency number passed at reception since no one was left at reception and the man that answered the phone literally answered it Hello. That’s it i thought i had the wrong number. Then i said i locked myself out of my room and he said well I'm an hour away so let me see if anyone at the restaurant can let you in and hung up on me. It was so odd. It left a bad taste in my mouth so even though I’m giving the place 4 stars and it does have a beautiful setting i will never stay there again

Staff was great. The restaurant is very nice but there is not a breakfast option during the week. They do have a few things you can grab in the check in area. Our room was missing soap and the bathroom was small but overall updated and very nice. The building is very old so a lot of steps, not very ADA friendly. Beautiful area.

Beautiful property only a few minutes from downtown Highlands. This historical property was refurbished with mid century design furnishings. The Oak Steakhouse is outstanding….well worth the splurge! The only small criticism is the carpets need cleaning and the bath amenities need checking before someone occupies a room. We will return!!!!!
