A great stay despite an issue with the heating

It’s always lovely to stay at The Warbrook. On this occasion however there was a wee problem with the heating over the Saturday & into Sunday. This wasn’t immediately apparent as it was so very cold outside. On returning to the hotel during the Saturday evening it was our intention to relax in the bar area. This wasn’t possible because it was so cold. We went to our room and got into bed instead. On Sunday morning having had a cold night the hot buffet breakfast offerings, although beautifully cooked were cold despite the warming unit being on. The restaurant area was also cold. It wasn’t so much that there was a problem with the heating, these things happen, it was that nobody said anything. Customer’s expectations aligned? Sadly not. The Warbrook House Hotel is a lovely place to stay. We’ve been there before and we’re already booked in for our next visit. If they are experiencing any issues on our next visit we can only hope they’re open about it as then and only then can we, as the guests, work out what we can do to make our stay as pleasurable as possible.

Stunning location for weddings. The hotel itself is full of character and quirkiness. However the rooms are cold, toilets don’t flush properly and there is no gym.

Beautiful place but spoiled by poor service.

Beautiful house with amazing grounds. Our room was comfortable but tired. What let it down for us was the service. The reception staff were fabulous but we had a long wait at the bar to get a drink on the evening of our arrival and had to approach three staff before one of them came to serve. The breakfast service was also very poor and the buffet breakfast was lukewarm at best. It’s such a shame as we stayed here about a year ago and it was much better then.

Small bed?

Have stayed here several times before and the beds have always been comfortable… however, on this occasion the bed seemed to be a small double with an inclination to roll into the middle! Other than this, all was as usual top class… and breakfast was delicious

We stayed in the grange which was a good 5 minute walk from the main hotel people walking on the road as no footpath. Our room was cold on arrival as heating had been turned down. The water was lukewarm which made the experience of showering and drying in the cold room uncomfortable. The mattress was very firm and the pillows not comfortable. We stayed for a murder mystery event at the hotel which wasn't very organised with one of our party being placed on a different table. We managed to sort this with another couple who had also been placed separately swapping our seats. We had to move our table to allow another table and chairs to be added as a party hadn't been added to the guest list. The room was very noisy and it was difficult to hear the actors. We did however enjoy the evening and the actors did their best to be heard often having to repeat their lines.

Good for Single Business Travellers

Nice Hotel in lovely grounds. Good they do reasonably priced single rooms for business trips. Excellent breakfast. At reception they did say the bar would be open until 11.30pm but last orders was 10.30pm and they refused to serve a couple that came in at 10.35pm, so be warned.

The room itself was clean, and thats where it ends, the rest was disgusting from the entrance through the not a hotel to the bar, sticky, dirty, really disgusting and noisy. The staff were pleasant enough. Definitely not suitable for any type of disability

It's in a lovely setting but our room was a fair way from the hotel facilities, our bathroom was tired, missing a sink plug, the main room was clean, bright and the bed was warm and comfortable

Truly disappointed.

Truly disappointed with what looked a nice place to stay. I was placed in the Grange, 80 odd bedrooms, and a few hundred yards from the main building. Not enough parking spaces on hard standing without going on the grass which was waterlogged. The toilet was disgusting, brown under the waterline and wouldn’t flush. Not acceptable. A big stain on the carpet in the room. No staff at the reception in the Grange meaning you had to go to the main reception a few hundred yards away. The door I had to use to get into the Grange wouldn’t close and there was a post it note on an inner door saying don’t close as the cleaner was the only person with a key. The rest was average without being special. When I handed the key back I told the receptionist of the problems and she said a member of the management would contact me. Needless to say they haven’t.
