Executive Mining House Near MTU

The whole group will enjoy easy access to everything from downtown Houghton, to the MTU campus, to Lake Superior in this large, centrally located former Executive Mining house.

The house was destined to be a vacation home with its wide hallways and generously sized bedrooms. Beautifully furnished for 10 people.

1 minute from the heart of Michigan Tech University, 5 minutes from historic downtown, and 10 minutes to the groomed snowmobile trail. Large parking area for 5 cars and a trailer.

With a large entryway, the first floor boasts a wraparound kitchen, washer/dryer, 3/4 bathroom, 1 large bedroom, and a combination living / dining area.

Is the plan to be with friends and family? Wonderful! This turn-of-the-century gem as plenty of room for everyone to hang out together, play games, or watch some Roku TV.

Taking the oak staircase to the second floor reveals the remaining 4 bedrooms and a full bathroom. The hallways are wide and the crafted wood trim is beautiful throughout. A ramp leading to the wrap-around porch is perfect for those of use looking to avoid steps.

There is a front yard (not fenced) that your dog can use as needed. Naturally, please clean up after use. Thanks!

There is a generously sized parking lot with plenty of parking for 5 cars.

We just stayed and the house was great! The kitchen was well equipped, everything was clean , plenty of parking and it was easy to get into. If you need 5 queen beds this place is great! If you don’t want to drive for groceries or beer, Jim’s is within a couple hundred yards.

Location of this house is fantastic! Near tech, walkable to restaurants and shops! But advertising as an executive mining house may be a stretch. It felt like a college house and the people cleaning/stocking it were college students. I think it’s great if it is students, teaching them great life lessons. But details are heavily overlooked because of it.

Great house for large groups

We had a wonderful stay at the Executive Mining House. Five spacious bedrooms including 3 extra large and sunny rooms, charming interiors, well equipped kitchen and an amazing location. I walked to coffee shops each morning and enjoyed a lovely view of the canal upon waking. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Executive mining house

Beautiful house, well-cared for, great location between main street and campus. Stayed warm despite the Houghton winter. I hope we get to stay there again.
