Everything was great overall: clean rooms, updated, spacious. My only gripe is that the AC takes a long time to kick in. You have to essentially put it on the highest level in order for it to circulate thoroughly.

I should have turned around and walked out. I could tell from the moment I walked in the lobby this wasn’t going to be up to standard. When I opened my room door, I immediately noticed it smelled bad. The overall sense I got of the room was that it was icky. My 2.5 hours drive to Houston took 4 hours and I had an event to go to so I didn’t really have time to do anything about my situation. I sprayed some fragrance to at least mask the bad smelled and tried not to touch much of anything. It was hard to get ready as the bathroom light was very dim. I was concerned about both my car’s and my safety but we both came out unharmed. When I got back to the room I was exhausted but the bed and pillow were uncomfortable. The sheets felt like polyester and the blanket wasn’t substantial at all. I just stayed to one corner. The worst part is the full length mirror lights up. The on/off button also lights up so there was blue light pouring into my room all night. I got hardly any sleep and finally just got up at 5:45 AM. If I didn’t have a breakfast meeting a bit later, I would have checked out at that point. Other things to note are that there was a tree shaped air freshener inside the AC vent which either made it smell bad or was insufficiently covering another bad odor. The tv didn’t work. It just showed static in every channel. There was no body wash or conditioner in the shower, just two bottles of shampoo. The room was $80 and they should never charge more than $50.

The room itself was acceptable. The grounds were dirty with remnants of broken glass. A man was bellowing as loud as he could past midnight to others in his group in a foreign language. The same man was outside the front door in the morning, suggesting some relationship with ownership or management. The neighborhood is not very good either.
