Several of the profile pictures on Hotels.com do not appear to be of the property - the photos of the newer "white" building, rooms and bathrooms were not in evidence during our visit.
While staying during low season, we thought we would experience a more attentive staff experience. Instead, the staff appeared lazy, tired and going through the the motions (although polite and friendly enough).
For example, on the first morning, there were barely any guests and we were offered a list of 4 set breakfasts. When the weekend and more guests arrived, there was suddenly a buffet breakfast and cooked eggs - so it appeared that they were only prepared to offer a fuller service if they felt there were sufficient customers to bother.
Also, we went out early one day for sightseeing and returned late in the afternoon. Despite being out all day, there had been no room cleaning service, despite the hotel being essentially empty except for us. So within half an hour of returning from a hot summer's day out, we were asked to vacate the room so they could clean it. They received the obvious response that we just wanted fresh towels rather than having to sit outside in the 38 Celsius heat while they cleaned.
Also be warned that while the hotel appears to front the ocean/ beach, in the low season/ summer, the tide is permanently out, leaving 100 m wide stretch of mud flats to the fishing boat mooring.
