The location is 20 minutes from downtown Indy and for the price, you cannot beat it! It’s worth the drive or $20 Uber to stay in Plainfield instead of downtown. Clean hotel with limited amenities, as we expected. We would stay here again.

We had a good experience with the Sonesta Essential. It is a small hotel but the hotel was very clean and modern. You can tell that the staff put in a lot of effort and care maintaining the hotel. The staff were friendly, attentive and very responsive. They made us feel confortable. The check-in and check-out was seamless. The pool and sauna was very nice. Allana (sorry she told me the correct spelling but I forgot) but she went out of her way to assist us and she stayed on top of things. The breakfast was good too.

I booked my stay through Expedia and used the Afterpay option to pay for it. My card was charged by the hotel for the stay on top of my agreement with Afterpay. I called the hotel and was given an email address of a Brittany Schwitzke to resolve the issue and have the charge refunded. I emailed her daily for three days, and as of today I haven’t even received a “I am looking into this” email. So basically I am expected to pay $90 to Afterpay and an additional $76 to the hotel for a stay I believed would cost under $100. I was trying to avoid disputing this charge with my bank, but due to zero response or accountability from this hotel, I’m left with no other choice.

I would never book this hotel agin. The WiFi is so bad, you can’t stream your tv shows. Definitely can’t video chat on your laptop. There is no hot water ever for showers. It’s always two minute long cold showers. I stayed 3 nights and they couldn’t figure out how to make my key card work for more than one day. I had to go back to the desk everyday so they could reprogram my key card. On my last night at 3am I could hear a drunk guy being loud in the hallway. I could hear him trying to tap his key card on my door, after several tries he opened my door. My deadbolt was latched but he was banging through the door with his shoulder and was able to open my door. I was pretty scared. I jumped out of bed and stood in front of him and he said to me,”How did my card open your door.” He realized he was in the wrong room so he walked away. That should not have happened. You shouldn’t be able to open someone else’s door.

The hotel was close to the airport and not far from a shopping center. The staff was friendly and helpful. I did not like that the hot water did not get hot and that the bar was not open.
