Super well appointed and charming. Note, bar and diner only accessible via outdoor path about 30-40 feet which seems longer in “brisk” weather.

After driving through thick fog and not seeing much of Harris, the sun came out on our arrival at The Cross Inn. They run a delightful village pub behind the inn where we had one of the best meals of our entire three-week trip. I recommend the Cullin Skink, a Scottish seafood chowder, delicious and the best I had in Scotland and Ireland. My salmon dish was out of this world good. Hubby had a delicious chicken wrapped in prosciutto. When I asked where the chef was trained, expecting Paris or Michelin, I was told Stornoway, Harris. It was one of the most memorable meals, if not the best, of our trip.

Great place with modern rooms and good pub food
Fabulous place. Very modern rooms in a cute pub. Lovely pub environment for our evening meal with a good menu including local fish. We had to leave early (5am) and they put out a small breakfast for us which was much appreciated. You need to book your evening meal. Highly recommonded.

This is a great place to stay! It was a last minute booking for us and we wanted a nice quiet, quant little place to stay, and the Cross Inn delivered all of that and more. The Barn Bar in the back was great, and the food is amazing. The staff are great and the owner is great host and makes sure all the details are up to standard!!!

The property is pretty far from most amenities, it feels quite remote. Our first impression upon arrival wasn't great. We got there about an hour before check-in time as we'd been up very early for the ferry not long after arriving in Scotland from Canada and our 3 year old was tired. We were hoping for a chance of getting checked in a little bit early. The 'welcome' we got was not nice, it was just rude and abrupt and we were told it wasn't open (I think it was the owner). I can understand not being able to accommodate an early check-in but she was rude about it. After that we felt unwelcome there and the stay was awkward.

This little inn is so quaint and clean. Breakfast (and dinner) we’re both excellent. The views are simply unmatched and this part of the island is breathtaking. Bring an eye mask if the light bothers you, as this far north it doesn’t get super dark at night. But an absolutely perfect stay.
