I stayed at the Amiral Palace Hotel Boutique Class in Istanbul, Turkey. When I was checking out, I stepped outside to get a taxi. There was a blue-cap taxi parked right in front of the hotel. I asked the driver how much he would charge to go to Istanbul’s new airport (IST). He gave me a price, and I agreed. When I went back inside to grab my bags, the front desk staff asked if I needed a taxi. I told them I already had one arranged. Shortly after, while I was in the taxi on my way to the airport, I realized that the hotel staff had shared my photo with the driver, complaining that he picked me up without notifying them or paying them a commission. I was extremely disappointed - it felt like my privacy was violated. If they can share a guest’s picture with a taxi driver, it makes you wonder what other personal information they might share. Another thing that bothered me was discovering that the hotel seems to take commissions “under the table” from taxi drivers, and that often results in higher fares for guests. My advice to future visitors: be cautious many people there may try to overcharge or take advantage of tourists.

The property is located within a 10 to 15 minute walk to Agia Sophia, Blue Mosque Sultanamet Square and Topkapi Palace. The staff was was friendly, helpful and provided great service. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The premises and rooms were clean and well-maintained. I would stay there again.

The hotel was perfect until they booked us a ride to the ship and charged us $50 for a $20 fare. Plus they only wanted to pay the driver $15! Hotel was great. Reception was greedy. Imdure the hotel didn't get that extra cash. Tho I did check and trip from the airport they booked was spot on at $60.

Excellent location, very easily walkable to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, and Topkapi Palace, as well as a really fun bazaar and tons of restaurants and shops. The breakfast was amazing!!! Huge spread, it had different elements every day. We had included Turkish tea daily, and Turkish coffee for an extra fee. The room was tiny, but it had a great shower. The indoor pool was wonderful, it was very beautiful, the water was warm. The sauna was lovely but it’s only for adults. We did not take advantage of the rest of the spa. Would stay again 100%.

Wonderful hotel, loved the location. Loved staying in Sultanahmet, close to all major sites and transportation to other places in Istanbul. Loved that we had to walk through Sultanahmet square and see the beautiful sites every day and night as we went back and forth to the hotel. I would definitely stay there again

Lobby and common area were all well maintained. Attentive staff at all times. The rooftop restaurant was a highlight with a diverse menu, good food, cocktails, and a great view!
