I want to use all my words as efficient as I can to keep this review short for those who need. One star goes to horrible quality (wasted, broken, must refreshed) of the bed! I knew room was tight and bathroom even tighter but multiple futures of the bathroom was out of use, fully custom made (try to made) tiny bathroom was a pain but even bigger pain was the response from the receptionists. They were so unpleasant to intake the problem and absolute zero solution to change the bed. I didn’t even mention all other problems in the room that needs help but bed! I had to stay for three nights but it hurts even more to see people behind that small reception letting you know administration of the establishment do not care. I told them about the problems in the room three times and added that be ready for a very sad but true review. I do not recommend Galatahan.

Friendly Staff!

Check in was easy and the location is great! Shower door in our room didn’t really close and the first night the AC went out, however; that issues was quickly resolved. The breakfast was a pretty great way to start off day, which getting anywhere from here was very easy due to the close public transportation. I’d recommend the hotel if you don’t mind some minor issues.

Amazing affordable hotel in the best area

Would definitely recommend this hotel if staying in Istanbul The value for money here is insane - for such an affordable hotel, the rooms were clean, modern, spacious, great mirrors & lighting, many plug sockets & storage options. Fresh water bottles are brought to your room everyday too Breakfast is included which was great The location was our favourite thing for sure though - just below the Galata Tower, the street has some beautiful buildings and cafes as you walk down. Just a stones throw is the beautiful main cobbled walkway down from the tower which has so many food options too The main road could be noisy but honestly once the windows were closed we had no trouble sleeping at all, the beds were so comfy which certainly helped too! Great hotel would 100% stay again

The hotel is perfectly placed for all tourist attractions. Tha afternoon receptionist was just lazy and quite frankly shouldn't be in hospitality. The morning guy was very helpfully, polite and friendly. Overall great location and good price.

The property is located in a convenient area for shopping and site seeing. The Galata tower is within walking distance and it's also close to the cruise port. The staff is extremely welcoming and answered our questions.

I was arrived at 4 PM, I took room number 12 and I immediately informed the guy that the air conditioning is not working, it took them more than 6 hours until 11:30 PM to change to room number 26 which I was extremely tired, the guy in the reception (night shift is rude) the room is very very small like 8 meter maximum. No bathroom door or ventilation, you can smell the Shi.. in the room. Very terrible experience and doesn’t worth value of money. - windows are not properly closed - noisy at night - room smelling is bad - unprofessional treatment by reception guy at night - he asked me to sleep by keeping windows open because the AC is not working with huge sounds and mouskitos The breakfast is okay but is not no special at all. I don’t recommend it with 50+ USD - maximum worth a 25 USD per night

I would not recommend staying at Galatahan Hotel based on our recent experience. After asking for help multiple times with our room, we were informed by the receptionist that none of the air conditioning units in the building were working, as the hotel had not switched from heating to cooling due to the weather, even though it was 75° outside. The temperature in our room reached 86°F (30° C) at night, and despite opening the windows, it was completely unbearable. We asked the front desk for assistance or a room change and were met with complete refusal. We even requested someone come to the room to help us figure out the unit, and that was also denied. At no point were we offered an alternative room or a working A/C unit. Ultimately, we had no choice but to book another hotel — not because we “had to leave early,” as the hotel falsely claimed in response to our refund request, but because basic comfort and hospitality were not provided. The hotel later stated that the A/C was working and that we declined a room change, which is simply not true. My partner was present throughout the entire interaction, and we both stand by our account. To make matters worse, the hotel refused to issue a refund, even though the booking was made in good faith with the expectation of standard amenities and customer service, both of which were clearly lacking. I appreciate the travel agency’s efforts to advocate for us, but sadly, Galatahan Hotel refused to take any responsibility.

Great location and friendly staff

This place is in a fantastic location! You can easily walk to all the main attractions in the city centre. There are loads of great restaurants and bars nearby, which means it can get a bit lively and hard to get a good night’s sleep (especially on a Saturday night). Nonetheless, the hotel has a lovely rooftop with stunning views of the city and the Galata Tower. The breakfast (8:00 am to 10:30 am) changes every day, so you get to try different Turkish flavours. I wish they had some international options too, though. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and they made us feel right at home. There’s always someone to greet you at the door and to offer you local tips.

The reviews were all very positive and mine agreed with theirs, the cost extremely affordable,; compared to the prices in Canada and USA , an amazingly inexpensive find....a full and delicious breakfast buffet , to satisfy the most discerning person. is included with your room reservation.
