Our first room had a few issues with the shower and tub. One of the chairs had a broken wheel. The staff was great in moving us but the second room also had multiple serious cleanliness issues that then needed to be resolved. It really was a first night in town nightmare. The staff was great and we really appreciate them but the hotel obviously needs some maintenance and sprucing up. You can actually see they are trying to do this with some new tables in the kitchen area that were installed during our stay. The bed was adequately comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. As part of making up the chaos to us free breakfast was offered which was very nice and a reason we ended up staying. The breakfast was fine. Nothing to write home about. Overall the area the hotel is in is fine. Located very close to the key sites. We felt safe but the guys on the street constantly trying to get you to eat at their mediocre and overpriced restaurants located on that street got old. We likely would stay in either the Karikoy or Kadikoy neighborhood next time where the food and drink prices are more reasonable and the food in general is more authentic and of a better quality.

The good: location, its close to all the main touristy places in Istanbul. It has a variety of restaurants close by (be mindful that the reviews on most of the restaurants in Istanbul aren't reliable, thought). The staff was very nice, specially the lady in the cafeteria and the cleaning staff. The rooms were spacious and clean, overall quiet considering the location. The not so good: a lot of sellers in this area, everytime we walked to or from our hotel you get swarmed by sellers, so if this isn't your thing, choose a quieter location. The last day, I told the front desk that we would be staying until the noon check-out time, he didn't tell the cleaning staff, they waiting in the staircase until we left, which was an awkward sitution. We almost felt pressured to go.

Good hotel in the Sultanahmed area, conveniently close to the square and its main attractions. Hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful. The only negatives were the TV which didn't work (they offered to move us to a different room, but TV wasn't that important to us, so we declined) and the furniture in the room (a bit outdated, old infrastructure). I would certainly recommend staying here if those things are not a bother to you, we certainly had a great time and were thankful to the staff for it.

Any great vacation starts with the Comfort and Hotel that you are staying in and this hotel was absolutely wonderful. From Adam to Hussein to Ali to the chef to the lovely young lady who serviced our room. Gracious is the first word out of my mouth. In terms of the location, this is exactly what I was looking for. Has a great neighborhood feel including the many restaurants stores and a great vantage point to see many of the attractions. 100% recommendation
