The Julian Gold Rush Hotel is charming and authentic, with a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes it a pleasure to stay. It’s located in the heart of Julian and within easy walking distance of all the shops and restaurants, which makes exploring the town incredibly convenient. The included breakfast is quite delicious and a wonderful way to start the day. While the rooms on the upper floors are on the smaller side, they add to the fun, cozy experience. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily stay here again.

We've stayed here before. I love the nostalgia of this hotel. It takes you waaaayyy back. No TVs is a plus. It keeps the kids off technology. We enjoyed the time playing board games and reading books.

Room had no contiguous walls. Sweet but of course tiny bathroom and insufficient lights...the usual in older places. But people actually talked to one another in lobby and played games, hung out in garden. Sweet.

From the moment we entered the Julian Gold Rush Hotel we were treated like family. The interior is warm and cozy with a stunning attention to detail. The room was quaint and comfortable. The parlor was breathtaking and open for the Hotel guests to freely mingle. The selection of board games and books was amazing. I would whole heartedly recommend a stay.

The hotel was charming, especiallythe lobby and dining room. However, the rooms themselves were small and cramped. The bed was too high to get onto without assistance and seemed more like a full. Also no TV, fridge or other amenities, and not comfortable for 2 people.

Old fashion it is for sure! This place dates back to times where the bedside table was not invented, where to put your book, glasses, alarm and water bottle? I am rather skinny but would bet that some costumer don't fit in the shower... Other than this I enjoyed the served breakfast, nice!

The room was not what I wanted. Tried to change it but no luck. Red carpet in room was so dirty and the door to get in the room was awful!!! When we went to bed the crack in the door and bottom had so much cold air coming in we had to block it with towels. No was not a happy camper .

This was our experience,,,,a nightmare. We had a reservation for 2 adults. We were in town to attend my sisters wedding. At the last minute we needed to bring our 8 year old grandson. Upon checkin we were told he could NOT STAY w us since our reservation was for 2 and no larger rooms were available to us. Mind you, this was said in his presence. How rude and NO OPTIONS!! 😡 we offered to pay an up charge or something. He could share the bed w us. I’m there for a wedding, now what!?!? Rehearsal was in 2 hours. No where to change or get ready. I’ve traveled the world and never have we experienced such an inconsiderate hotel. Will never recommend this hotel to anyone!
