Yes room clean but only every other day Resort fee and taxes didn’t allow for a lot of amenities. You still had to rent items. Nice that they had pool/beach towels and sunscreen. Check in was very rushed so had to go back next morning and get details of resort etc

I was supposed to be in an ocean view room, but the room I had was only partial view. Overall the room and resort were clean and well kept and the staff in the restaurant was very friendly. One particular person at the front desk was quite rude though and wouldn't allow me to request a 2nd card for an additional beach towel - which felt like such a small request and no reason to be a jerk about it. Luckily the gentleman at the pool cabana were more thoughtful and generous and provided a 2nd towel. I mean, for a $45 per day resort fee, I should get as many towels as I want without being hassled about it. Right?

The room was dark,dusty shades and worn carpets,no modern day plugs for phones and limited easy outlets.The employees were fantastic and go overboard to keep you happy,the view was awesome and we got to see whales everyday.The pool was great and servers quick.45 minutes from the airport and no shuttle to resort ,cab fare was over $100 .If renting a car be aware that all the resorts charge a nightly parking rate,here is was a cheap $40.There is a coffee/ ice cream shop on sight that sells cold cut sandwiches and salads at a reasinable rate be aware they run out of food but what we had was good.The other restaurant lunch/ dinner menu is pricey and limited but very good. The area resorts offer a free shuttle to go between all resorts and whalers village which is a small shopping/ diner area.It is easily walkable if you dont want to shuttle 1-2 miles at the most.The weather was windy but sunny most days, 80° dropping to 70 at night, the wind making it chilly.

Great rooms! the ocean view was pretty and the specific room I was in had a great view of the golf course and Bungalows. The proximity to the beach was AMAZING! It was so nice to walk down the steps and right on to the beach. Staff was good, the person who checked out us was so wonderful and helpful. Wished she was the one at check out to make the trip even better.

The rooms were nice and were clean. It’s like staying at a normal hotel, not a resort feel. When you book through Expedia you’ll pay all your resort fees up front, then when you leave the royal lahaina will charge you all your resort fees again. Your 45 dollar a day resort fee will actually cost you 90 dollars a day. Also when checking out and in the description it does not show a 40 dollar a day parking fee, so that will also be included as a bill when you leave. So, whatever you pay to stay here you may as well add 130 dollars a day to. Also if you want to use any resort amenities like beach chairs, body boards, cabanas, you pay a HEFTY price for. My wife and I have stayed at many resorts in various places and this was the biggest money grab we’ve seen. Booking the luau through the resort is also the most expensive place to book it which really surprises me when I paid what I did to stay there for a week. At other resorts I’ve always received guest discounts. If I was able to do it over I would’ve stayed somewhere else. This is a glorified/ridiculously expensive and greedy hotel. The pools are mediocre, this resort is comparable to a descent chain hotel, for luxury resort prices. The beach is also not a nice calm swimming breach, it drops off fast and it certainly not relaxing to swim in, at least with the weather we had while there. We did our swimming at other beaches.

The room was very clean. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. The reception staff were especially helpful when my husband had to go to the hospital and we had to cut our trip short. I especially want to thank Michael, our waiter for his concern and help. It was much appreciated.

Everything was perfect ! Ocean at the front desk has great customer service and people skills ! She is very helpful ! At the restaurant and bar , Carla , Mate , Jose , Melissa , Balasz , Chantal and the young waiter from Chile , sorry I forgot his name ! are great to talk too ! They are very professional and friendly ! .The lady that cleans the rooms at the 4 th floor does a great job ! At the Tennis Ranch , Jeane the head tennis pro is very professional , funny and a great listener , I am 62 years old , travelled a lot Royal Lahaina Maui is one of the best places I stayed ! Thanks a lot Royal Lahaina Maui !
