The property was in a very convenient location and excellent staff and kaiseki breakfast and dinner. We were expecting a more modern and updated ryokan experience from the photos when we booked. Unfortunately the ryokan room that we booked was quite dated however the reviews with photos seemed to show a new and modern room. Saw another property with the same name, perhaps there are 2 different Kawaguchiya ryokan.
