Broken tiles everywhere and the front desk was speaking a foreign language to someone else while they were helping me. Room was 80 degrees when I got there. Elevator was a scary mess.

The hotel itself, and the room could have been a bit cleaner. The pool was out of order during our stay. With that being said, the hotel was quiet, even during race weekend, and the breakfast was very good. The desk staff were very friendly, and accommodating.

Several things about this property have been left unattended. The pool and jacuzzi were inoperable and drained. The fountain out front not working and drained. The bar inside was not open the entirety of the stay(5 days) The elevator broke down at least twice that we know of while there. Our room was not serviced once while there.

Disappointing

It was disappointing. The main reason we chose this hotel was because of the pool, and word of mouth, of course. The pool was shutdown for 2 full days. We could never get a truthful answer to why. Come to find out a guest who stays there every weekend told us it had been broke for over a month. I feel that was something that should’ve been disclosed before checking us in. The most helpful people were the one housekeeper & the lady who ran the lounge. The one front desk man knew nothing. He avoided every question. He didn’t want us to use cash at the front desk for candy because he had already counted the drawer for the night. Our shower was broke and would not turn hot. I told the front desk girl the morning after we checked in and she said she’d have someone look into it. There was no follow through. We left a name & number for the owner to call us. Apparently he was there that day having a meeting. The only call we ever received back was from an amazing housekeeper. She was the only honest one there.

Someone had used bathroom when we got there. Toilet (unflused) 7 shower. T.V. Control was missing —-for five hours they couldn’t locate another—only when I came to office could they get one —by the game was over. Bed was lumpy, halls were littered with trash—just not a good value.

The place was quiet and clean. Our specific room had heat issues. The room was extremely warm and the heat would not turn down. The fan when turned to on would not run. The shower door did not seal and let water out on floor. We have stayed here before and al”was fine so had to be this room.

We have stayed at this hotel before without any issues. However, our last stay from 2/9 to 2/10 was less than ideal. There was a loud party in the bar that lasted until after midnight. When my husband finally went to the front desk, the staff member there told me there was nothing she could do and that it was up to the bar manager. When the bar manager came over, she claimed that the bar is officially open until 1am and that nothing could be done as long as customers were present. The problem is that the foyer area where the bar is located opens up to the second floor, making it impossible for both first and second floor guests to sleep while the loud party is going on. If this is indeed the hotel policy, this "feature" needs to be properly disclosed. Things did quiet down eventually, but we had a long drive ahead of us the next day, and the only reason we paid for our room was to have an uninterrupted night of sleep. Not being able to sleep until well after midnight and having to walk down to the front desk to argue with the hotel staff was not part of the plan. I welcome the hotel representative to clarify their hotel quiet hours policy.
