Welcome to your peaceful private guest suite in Keaʻau, Hawaiʻi — a comfortable home base for exploring the east side of Hawaiʻi Island.
Inspired by the Native Hawaiian kauhale, this space was created with a sense of harmony between people, land, and place. Around the property you’ll find kalo, bananas, ʻulu, coconut trees, and a growing Hawaiian garden that gives the home a calm, tropical feeling.
The suite has its own private entrance and includes a bedroom, bathroom, and front outdoor space for guests to enjoy. It is ideal for couples, solo travelers, honeymooners, stargazers, and anyone looking for a quiet place to return to after a day of exploring waterfalls, beaches, Hilo, Pāhoa, Volcanoes National Park, or the surrounding coastline.
In the evening, relax outside beneath the open sky. With very little light pollution in the area, the stars can be beautiful on clear nights. The mornings are peaceful, with birds, garden views, and the feeling of being tucked away from the busyness of town while still being close enough to reach restaurants, shops, and island adventures.
Our ʻohana lives in the rear portion of the home, while guests enjoy the private front suite and entrance. The layout feels similar to a duplex: you have your own space in the front, and we have our family space in the back. You may occasionally hear normal family sounds, dogs, chickens, or yard activity, but we do our best to keep the guest experience quiet, respectful, and comfortable.
We have two large dogs on the property, but they stay in the backyard and do not share the guest front-yard area. We also have two outdoor cats and a few hens who may wander around the property. They are part of the charm of the place, but guests are asked not to chase or feed the animals.
This is a simple, peaceful, garden-centered stay — a place to rest, slow down, and enjoy the natural beauty and mana of Hawaiʻi Island.
