My wife and I recently booked an overnight stay. First impressions were good. A beautiful building (only slightly ruined by the bank of Tesla charging stations). The friendly receptionist greeted us and explained everything we needed to know during our stay. I had paid extra to stay in one of the “Spa rooms” with a four poster bed. First impressions of the room were good. Very spacious, large four poster bed, large well heated bathroom. However, upon closer examination there was dust on the surface of the top of the bed frame, the headboard, and the surface of the metal light fittings either side of the bed. There were also cobwebs visible on the wooden beams. In the bathroom someone had placed a piece of plastic from a disposable razor into the bath overflow, Furthermore the floor behind the bath was thick with dust and cobwebs. The mastic/sealant in the bottom corners of the shower had areas of black mould on them. I tried to reach room service at around 20:00 to order drinks to be sent up. Both numbers provided just rang without being answered. Eventually I called the hotel reception externally from my personal phone. It was answered immediately.. Overall this was quite disappointing. Regardless of if I had paid for a basic room or paid extra for the upgraded room (which I did) the basic standards had not been met and a lack of attention to detail was evident. Hopefully this will be received as constructive criticism to help the management rectify these issues.

I've been to Barton Hall before which made me want to again for a solo night away to rest before my baby is due. I was given a gorgeous superior room with a huge bed, standalone bath in the room and separate bathroom! I made use of the attached spa where the team were lovely. My only critique is the rooms at the front are quite noisy as you're next to the main road and the window are quite thin. Unfortunately a fire alarm went off twice at 7:30am the next morning which woke me up abruptly, the housekeeping where then knocking on the door at 8:55am, then the reception team were ringing the phone at 9am as someone else had checked out using my room number. Being heavily pregnant this wasn't the morning relaxation I was hoping for and I left quite disappointed. The fire alarm was caused by another guest smoking their room - its a shame that the team didn’t think to use this opportunity to offer gratitity to guests such a free breakfast to apologise for the disruption.

We loved every aspect of our stay, all the staff were just lovely and helpful, the room was beautiful, we used the spa when we checked in which was much needed after a long week, got back to the room and had room service, the food - wow! Slept really well, we had breakfast the following day which was so good, i saw it was a hot/cold buffet, which i had my reservations about as sometimes doesn't keep 'fresh' - it was so good though, the eggs were cooked to perfection and the yolk on the fried egg was a giveaway of good eggs, the perfect colour. We will definitely come back when we next need a night to recharge, i have recommended to everyone i've spoken to. Thank you Barton Hall

We frequently visit family in Kettering and were hoping Barton Hall would become our regular "go-to" hotel. Unfortunately, despite the lovely setting, several service and cleanliness issues made this a disappointing stay. The Positives: - The Property: The hotel itself is a stunning building. Our rooms were spacious, and the bathroom in the Superior room was particularly impressive. - Dining: Dinner in the restaurant was lovely; the food was high quality and the atmosphere was very pleasant. - Staff: Most staff members we encountered were polite and pleasant. The Issues: - Cleanliness: Upon arrival, we found black hairs on the bedding and towels in one of our rooms). Though we reported this and asked for the bed to be remade, we returned to find the same soiled pillow simply placed back on the bed. - Housekeeping: On our final day, neither of our rooms had been serviced. When I queried this at checkout I was told beds aren't made daily. For a 4-star hotel, this lack of basic daily service is unexpected. - Noise: As it was Christmas, there were loud parties on Friday and Saturday. We weren’t warned about this at check-in. Guests were shouting in the hallways until 1:30 AM, and the walls offered little soundproofing. When I asked for earplugs the next morning, none were available. Overall, while the building is grand, the attention to detail and service standards do not currently match the price point. We left feeling that this was not the 4-star experience we paid for.

We arrived on Friday night for a relaxing weekend as a treat for my partner's birthday. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant and although there was a Xmas party and a bit noisy, it soon subsided when the party went to their venue room. However, that night our sleep was constantly interupted by people chatting and shouting loudly outside our room until the early hours of the morning. To top it off, our room was right in front of a carpark where staff started arriving at 5am. We had some treatments booked on the Saturday so we stayed all day. There was a wedding party, again, noisy in the bar. Realising we would get another night of interupted sleep, we asked if we could change rooms. The hotel was fully booked. We then asked if we could have a refund for our room explaining that we really needed to sleep that night. We were told no, email the hotel. I also asked if we could get some money recharged for room services, again told no by duty manager. We had to cut short our visit and return home and I did email the hotel. No resolution as yet, was told it's busy because of Xmas. If you want a good night's sleep, don't stay here!
