Beautiful country hotel steeped in history. We had a lovely room overlooking the lawn and lake. Some staff very friendly and understanding of our inquisitive two year old…some clearly don’t like children. If you allow them, don’t then look down your nose at them! Fantastic food in the restaurant, but very inflexible in the bar, where the manager insisted that there wasn’t an option for a child’s ham sandwich and that we had to order an adults…really!!!

A gem and a special experience.

Second visit and a firm favourite. Stunning historical property in really great condition with many original features, providing a magical ambiance. Lovely, well-appointed rooms. Best of all is the service, from friendly, helpful & courteous people, leaving a special feel to the place, without ever feeling stuffy or pretentious. Impossible to fault.

A good value stay in a fine old building, with spa

The check-in and bar staff were excellent. Very helpful. The staff in the brasserie need more training. There were several mistakes during our meal from what we thought was a lack of care and concentration. We let staff know about this on leaving. Overall a good value stay in a fine old building, with the bonus of a spa. Thank you.

Slow service at it’s best

Overall the stay was good.However,the service in the Brasserie was very slow,from ordering our meals it took 40 minutes for our starter to arrive,then from finishing the starters another 30 minutes for our mains to arrive.Other diners experienced the same issues,apologies were plentiful from the staff but obvious improvements in this area are needed

Our stay at Rushton Hall was perfect and the room (Hollyhock) was very large as was the bathroom with both a bath and separate shower. The Spa and the team are helpful and friendly. Dinner was slow to arrive but very tasty. Some parts of the public areas could do with more attention to detail for example the Chandler in the dinner hall had damaged parts handing down over breakfast trays containing food. Overall Great location excellent staff and fabulous WiFi. For an establishment of this type and the prices charged. My personal rating would be 8.5 /10.

Overall our stay was lovely. Room was beautiful. Spa area in need of some TLC for example wall paper coming of the walls. Room service was great and the food was very nice. Overall the staff were very pleasant The only part I found frustrating was we were forgotten about on several occasions and promised would come back to us when we ordered and did not return. This would have been ok if it was not for further guests arriving after us and been attended to straight away. I would return though as a lovely place to visit.

Great value on my stay over Valentine's weekend. Exceptional dinner in the Brasserie. (Food better than some of the servers). Lovely room dovecote in perfect quiet area of hotel.

Almost excellent

The hotel is a traditional beautiful stately home with a lovely spa. The meal in the Brasserie was the best I have had in a long time and the service was great at the restaurant bar and throughout the hotel. Some parts of the hotel have been renovated and others have not leaving it looking a little tired. Our beautiful room had a leak in the ceiling and we had to move on day two as a result. We were left to do this by ourselves and didn't like the new room quite so much. Perhaps if we had been helped and given an upgrade, as the hotel was not full, this would have made the hotel stay overall excellent. Nonetheless, I do recommend the hotel and facilities and would visit again.
