The property is like stepping into a luxurious game lodge from a bygone age yet you’re only 15 minutes from the town of Plettenberg and about 5 minutes to a wonderful stretch of beach just down the hill. However the facility itself is nearly new so it features all the modern conveniences to be had. Architects and interior designers will be fascinated by the attention to detail that went into the construction of this lodge. The grounds are extensive and include a horse stable and several paths, providing plenty of opportunity to take in some casual exercise in a wonderful secluded environment. The proprietors and staff were incredibly warm and friendly and the advice given made sure we got the most out of our 2 days there. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the Crags.

The Johnston family has created a fabulous, stylish lodge in a beautiful location; the views from Tamodi are literally breathtaking, overlooking the valley and distant mountain range. This is a very special property and we really enjoyed our stay here. Waking to the sound of birdsong and then experiencing a Tamodi breakfast makes a truly luxurious start to the day - the breakfasts are fabulous! It was a wonderful treat to stay in the honeymoon suite and the outdoor shower is to be recommended..... Big thanks to Chelsea, Nathanial and the rest of the team for looking after us so well - we hope to visit again.

Amazing.

Absolutely amazing location felt like we were in a game lodge on safari again. We were greeted and treated throughout our stay impeccably by our hosts and the breakfast was superb with an amazing view. Just wish we were staying there longer.

Relaxing, peaceful & stunning!

We stayed just one night at Tamodi Lodge en route to The Garden Route, having flown to Port Elizabeth. The lodge is a little off the beaten track, being up a very potholed track, but the location of is well worth the rather bumpy drive. Our room was huge & well equipped with breathtaking views over the valley. Breakfast was served on an open veranda with the same breathtaking views and was delicious. Owen and his staff were all very helpful & friendly & recommended a lovely restaurant nearby for our evening meal. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to sample any of the wines from the well stocked wine cellar, but maybe next time we will stay a little longer.

Fabulous views and thoughtfully appointed rooms.

We were the only guests in this small lodge as it was winter and very cold. Breakfast was served by the fire each morning, one day inside and the next day it was warm enough to eat on the expansive deck (also by the fire). The owner and staff were very kind and helpful as many restaurants in the area were closed for winter break. We would definitely return. I would definitely recommend Tamodi to anyone looking for peace and quiet while being near gorgeous beaches and forests. We would definitely stay there again and wish we had booked another night or two as we liked it much better than our next hotel on the Garden Route.
