The place is beautiful. The location is perfect. Makena surf is our favorite place to stay on Maui. Coral Tree was responsive to our needs. The major issue is that the kitchen is not well appointed (who wants to have buy a bottle of olive oil or salt for a week long stay?) and they don't provide beach umbrellas or other beach gear like is standard in most places we've stayed. Two of the beach chairs they did provide were broken. When asked about it management just said "we don't do that". At the very least they could have managed to provide us with the gear or direct us to someone who could deliver for a fee. It's a shame because with a tiny amount of work this place would absolutely be five stars.

Relaxing stay away from the crowds

The condo was beautifully furnished and nicely situated for views of the beach and watching the sunset. The beds were comfortable and appointed. We were disappointed in the lack of any type of snorkel gear or boogie boards that we have had in other rentals. Also they could use more linens and glassware. There were four beach towels so we were laundering daily. There were three champagne flutes and two wineglasses in a condo for 4-6 people and two dish towels. We spent too much time doing laundry and dishes by hand because we didn’t have enough to go a few days.
