Welcome to “Lobstah Tales”. Our family loves spending time in the Outer Banks, so purchasing this home was a dream come true.

New for 2025 - New roof, pool fence and family room couches!

Lobstah Tales is perfect for a family beach vacation getaway. We have two children and appreciate kid-friendly accommodations when we travel. It is located only 300 feet from a direct beach access that hosts a lifeguard station! That was a huge bonus for our family - quickly running back to the house to grab a forgotten item is so convenient! The pool and hot tub are the perfect way to end a long beach day, wash off in the outdoor shower and jump on in! For rainy day family activities, the house boasts puzzles and games as well as a rec room with a foosball table and newly added ping pong table, and of course wireless internet and cable TV in each bedroom and living areas.

Our beautiful home is located in the heart of Kill Devil Hills and is close to many restaurants and shops. Enjoy views from 3 different decks (one with a screened porch). You can see the Wright Monument from the back, or take in partial ocean views from our favorite reading spot deck on the third floor.

Looking for activities? Your family will enjoy the close proximity to the Wright Brothers Memorial National Park, Pier fishing, putt-putt, movie theaters, go carts, boat rentals, restaurants and shops galore!

House layout:

1st Floor
- rec room with full bathroom, foosball table, ping pong table, laundry and access to the pool, hot tub, grill and outdoor shower.

2nd floor
Master bedroom with King (full bath) and private deck
Queen bedroom
Twin bedroom - this room hosts two twin over twin bunk beds
Full bath in hallway that serves Queen and Bunk rooms

Linen Fee of $200*** covers bed linens (2 King, 1 Queen, 4 Twin), Bath and hand towels for 10 people and 4 bathmats. Renter is responsible for following linen rental company guidelines at check-in and check-out. ***Please note the $200 fee pertains to 1 week stays. Any stay over 7 days will be subject to an additional fee based on the linen service.

Cleaning fee does not cover excess cleaning, failure to follow check-out cleaning list and damages caused by renters. In the event of excessive cleaning, a fee will be charged.

Renters need to bring the following:

Towels and beach chairs
Paper supplies (toilet paper, paper towels)
Cleaning supplies (dishwasher, laundry)
Toiletries (soap, shampoo etc..)

Additional amenity details: Pool and hot tub are professionally maintained and are open from May-September. Pool is not equipped with a pool heater (this doesn’t stop us!). Abuse to the pool and hot tub will be subject to an additional fee. Fireplace seen in photos is purely cosmetic and not available for use.

Primary renter must be over the age of 25. No parties, pets or smoking!

Perfect for families

We absolutely loved it. The house was perfect for our family. We love the decor, the location, your steps away from the beach the pizza place was delicious. The restaurant to the right of the house across the street from the pizza place was delicious. We also went to the bay because the jellyfish started coming to the ocean and the bay was wonderful. All the shops and restaurants around you can walk to the homemade ice cream place the game room and the pool were just perfect. My son took his four year-old daughter to the skate park which they used to doing back home. They had a blast that was a couple of mornings during our stay. They found a splash pad. The kids absolutely loved. Everything was perfect thank you so much.

Great Stay for Families

This house was just the right fit for my family of five (though there is plenty of room for a few more). The house was clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished. We spent most of our time down in the pool but also appreciated being able to walk to the beach, local shops, and restaurants.

Great location. There was plenty of room for children and adults. The pool was always a great way to end a morning st the beach, then maybe some time to relax in the hot tub after dinner. This was our 5th year at this great beachhouse one block from the ocean.

Needs maintenance!

From a distance the online pictures look great. The proximity to the beach and local was good. Unfortunately, the facility was in need of basic maintenance. Examples. Multiple light bulbs where out. One burner on the stove was out. Both the kitchen sink and upstairs master bathroom had sinks that leaked. All of the outdoor furniture need to be pressure washed. It give the appearance of mold and mildew. The TV in the upstairs master bedroom occassion would only have a half screen. Everything listed could have been fixed with some basic maintenance between 10am and 4pm some Saturday. If all the issues where resolved we would have given it 4 stars.

Love this house

We have stayed here four times. The owner is great and the house is perfect for us having 3 generations for the week. Pool/hot tub are relaxing at end of the day. Very convenient to many restaurants and stores.

Perfect House to make Family Memories

The House was beautiful, and spacious enough for all 10 of our group to spread out and have their own personal experience. The kids and teenagers loved the pool and hottub, and the ping pong and foosball gave afults and children a fun activity to play together without leaving the doorway. Literally waliing distance from arcade, 5 guys rstaurant, and we really felt we were a block away from anything in Kill Devil Hills. You access the beach via public access , great spot. Dare Devils subs and Pizza and Bonzers Restaurant on either side of the street on beach road, made it so easy to grab a simple, quick bite for the kids between meals. So grateful this wasnour house for OBX VACATION 2023

The house “Lobstah Tails” was absolutely beautiful in and out!

We will definitely love to return to this house in the future, and it was GREAT being able to communicate with the owners, which are very friendly and gave us a lot of info on stuff to do in the area!

We have stayed at quite a few and this is one of the cleanest Vrbo houses we have stayed at! Great layout for a family with kids and Grandparents. Easy walk to beach allowing for a quick return to the house for lunch. Walkable to restaurants, pizza, and ice cream, yet short drive to many other great restaurants. The owner, Kristin, responded instantly with any concerns/questions, the best we have ever dealt with. Definitely hope to return again.

Perfect Location and House

The property was beautiful and had all the amenities our group needed. We walked to the beach, restaurants, and shopping every day as the location of the house was super close to all of these things. Owner communication was prompt and very courteous. Even though pool wasn't heated it felt wonderful with the June sun, and all adults and kids swam daily. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend to others!
