Well-developed hiking and cycling trails such as the Rotkäppchenland railway cycle path, the Schwalm cycle path and the Fulda cycle path offer a variety of tours through nature and culture. In addition, numerous museums characterise the region and provide exciting insights into its history and special features.
Another highlight is Bad Hersfeld, just a few kilometres away. The town boasts an impressive half-timbered old town and a wide range of spa, cultural and leisure facilities.
